Thinking about the time Shevin waved to us and we waved back and then were like “Why did we wave to HIM?”
And he’s spent the whole (extended) season explaining to us. 😂

14.do you have a 'comfort' athlete? why do you like them?
15.which athlete was your favourite growing up? why?
Oh god, I didn't see this until now, I'm so sorry Anon!
Anyway -
do you have a 'comfort' athlete? why do you like them?:
Right, so this is going to sound random, but probably Tyson Barrie and Ondrej Palat.
Barrie because he's absolutely hilarious, 100/100 personality, wish there were more athletes like him. Him being in Colorado made the Avs not a throwaway team (remember I am a homegrown Red Wings fan, so I have historic beef with the Avs) and a part of me will always resent Makar for essentially pushing him out of there. Ultimate vibe man. Someone put him in the booth as the guy who does loose interviews with the guys before and after games and banters with everyone.
And Pally is someone I found when I was getting back into hockey mania. I accidentally latched onto the 2014-15 Lightning and sort of fell in love with the Triplets. (Pally, bb!Nikita Kucherov and Tyler Johnson). But Pally is the one that's really stuck with me because I think I'm always a sucker for the unheralded, hard working one that plays with the superstars. Like, is it a coincidence that every year the Lightning went to the Finals, he was on the top line? Maybe, but my mind says I've connected the dots. Honestly, I was heart broken when he was forced out of a Tampa.
which athlete was your favourite growing up? why?
When I was really young, it was Sergei Federov. I honestly couldn't tell you why; he was obviously one of the best players on those Wings teams I watched then, but there was something about him I gravitated towards.
But also - and this is going to sound weird af, but I was a weird af kid - Lou Gehrig. So. I was obsessed with baseball history as a kid, like truly, ridiculously obsessed. And Lou Gehrig, how amazing a player he was, how lowkey he was, the whole tragic way his life unfolded, all of it struck me. I have a Lou Gehrig mini-wheaties box collectable, I have a Lou Gehrig tin wall hang, I have a Lou Gehrig framed poster, I have a Lou Gehrig doll (yes, you read that right - a Lou Gehrig doll), I went as Lou Gehrig for halloween when I was in third grade. In middle school, we had to pick a speech to recite in my social studies class and I picked Gehrig's farwell address. So. Even though he was long gone before I was born, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention him.
Again, sorry for only replying to this now, Anon. <3 I hope my random answers are entertaining at least, lol. Thank you for the ask!
I saw this headline on THW website:
And my immediate thought was to wonder when the Bruins had taken the state of New Jersey hostage. So. That's how my brain is working at the moment.
Zdeno Chara?????????
Kevin is babycatting Nolan again in IG comments
NOT ANDERS FUCKING LEE
I thought it was devastating when Reaves said he didnt want to do something that made his teammates uncomfortable, like, as if white comfort means fucking anything in this context. I dont know what made him change his mind, but what he did tonight is so important.
