The Lairbreakers, in accordance with their name, are siege experts. The majority of the armored support they bring are artillery. During siege operations, they also bring the rare Loxodon Battlemech.

An early, largely unsuccessful experiment in a modular weapon system, the 85 ton quadrupedal Loxodon features a large weapon bay in the center and left torsos, which the Lairbreakers have used to mount a cut down version of a Sniper-class artillery gun, making it a deadly siege weapon.

The Lairbreakers were formed in 3010 with only Adori and Ash as members, but quickly ballooned in size as they took on unemployed mercenaries who shared their disdain for the Draconis Combine. by 3012, they had swelled to just over a company in battlemech forces, with infantry and conventional vehicle compliments to match

they would not obtain their reputation for siege warfare until 3014, however, during a mission on Kufstein

the DCMS had fortified the targeted base unexpectedly, and on discovering this fact, the Lairbreakers, as the first forces down, they used the rare Loxodon battlemech, with its Sniper cannon being used to knock down walls and enemy forces alike.

today, in 3042, the Lairbreakers are a highly respected mercenary unit, and can generally be found working for the Federated Commonwealth or Magistracy of Canopus, and are expected to continue to serve their paying employers dutifully for many more years.
