Shorthand Review: The Last Sect [2006]

For some, the lesbian-vampire sex may be enough to get you over the line, for others, the ratcheted up third act will. For most though, neither'll be enough.

Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole.

Queer review: The Last Sect

The journalist Sydney St. James is writing an article for the magazine where she works about the on-line dating agency Artemis that is specialized in women. She schedules an interview with the owner of Artemis, Anna, and she visits the mysterious woman with her photographer Sam, who is fascinated by a site called Vampire Web. Sidney feels a great attraction for Anna, who is actually an ancient vampire called Anastasia.

Bite me!

I can't say it's the best film in that department, because it's terribly cliched and at some point even cheesy. But weirdly it has a special place in my heart, it's because we rarely see those vampire stereotypes applied to a gay couple, not straight one. A good one-time watch movie...well i have to admit i watched it more than one time.

BUT WHAT'S THERE FOR THE QUEER GIRLS?

One woman seducing another? In a very persistent way? She doesn't want to suck her dry, she wants a life with her?

A very sexy heroine's dream in which she fulfills her deep down fantasies.

Pretty girls? Lots of pretty girls.
