NEW YORK, Feb. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Luxury Italian designer Bruno Magli is relaunching its beloved Women's line after a three-year hiatus in the United States for the Autumn/Winter 2016 season and has named actress, director, artist and humanitarian Lucy Liu as the brand's ambassador.

Bruno Magli is designing for a strong, powerful and confident woman in the rejuvenation of the line. The Collection will include both heels and flats, with a basic pump starting at $450 and a high boot retailing for approximately $1,100.
"The Bruno Magli Women's Collection has historically been sold at better department stores including Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue and with this relaunch we will respond to the loyal customer demands for its return," said Michael DeVirgilio, President of Marquee Brands, the parent company to Bruno Magli.
Lucy Liu, a fashion icon in her own right and longtime friend of the brand, is partnering with Bruno Magli as it returns to its roots. As part of the relaunch, Liu and Bruno Magli will collaborate to release a style in her namesake. As a UNICEF Ambassador since 2004, involving herself in its campaigns and initiatives, Liu has been influential in supporting the organization's mission of saving and improving children's lives worldwide. As part of her partnership, Liu will be donating a portion of her proceeds to benefit UNICEF.

The Guest Cat is in trouble.
This morning around 5, as Lucy began the first rounds of her daily I Am Starving Feed Me dance revue (the chorus goes "MAAAAAAAAWW! MAA-AA-AAWW! MROOOOUUUUUU!") we heard a massive crash from downstairs. We've been leaving the patio door open at night to circulate cool air into the apartment, and I admit my first, biggest fear was that somebody was trying to break in. I jumped out of bed, remembered I was naked, grabbed a blanket to wrap around myself and ran to the stairs; I am not sure what I was planning to do if there had been an intruder.
Luckily there was just the Guest Cat, looking mildly bewildered at the patio doors--specifically, the screen door she had managed to knock completely out of its frame, murdering a tomato plant in the process. :-/
The screen door is pretty rickety at the best of times--it pops out of its track almost every time I open it--and Lucy has done the same trick before, though in her case it required a good running jump and the tomato plants in the line of fire were smaller and bounced back pretty readily. After getting some actual sleep, I surveyed the damage, and this looks much more serious: several branches were broken off completely, while others are so bent I am not sure if they're going to survive. And this was the plant that had the most green fruit on it, just starting to lighten in color. I suppose we can still eat them green, fried or something, just...sigh.
This plus the second invasion of the Fucking Broccoli Eating Caterpillars has rather dampened my enthusiasm for the garden. And the Guest Cat does not seem to care one whit. Grr.
