Minor TGAA 2-3 Spoilers (at least what the victim’s name is and the existence of a certain character.)

I’m sure most people who played the English localization at least thought about this joke when they learned the victim was named Mr. Asman.  This comic was born from the mental image of the masked apprentice trying so hard (and failing) not to laugh in public.  Honestly, Barok might be more amused about Ryuunosuke’s slip-up if his best friend wasn’t currently the defendant in a murder trial.

A 4-panel comic.

Panel 1 shows Susato and Ryuunosuke standing at the defense bench.  Ryuunosuke slams his hands onto the bench and says, “But the victim, Mr. Ass-man...”  Susato is holding her trademark book next to him, wide-eyed and blushing in embarrassment.

Panel 2 shows Susato collapsing forward onto the bench, hiding her face behind her book, mortified.  Ryuunosuke has turned to her in confusion.

Ryuunosuke: Huh?  Miss Susato, what’s wrong?

Panel 3 moves to the prosecution’s side, to show Barok staring forward while holding a chalice of wine, unamused.  The masked apprentice is bent over the desk, a hand clamped over his mouth, trying not to laugh.  A text bubble shows Ryuunosuke’s dialogue.

Ryuunosuke: Was it something I said about Mr. Ass-man?

Panel 4 shows that the masked apprentice has collapsed to the ground, only one of his hands visible where it clenches the desk.  He is making indistinct wheezing noises.  Barok has extended his chalice toward Ryuunosuke.

Barok: A toast to your ability to incapacitate both of our assistants.

Feel like people don’t talk enough about how incredibly fucked up it is that Stronghart forced Kazuma to hide his face for three months.

For almost a year he’s had amnesia; he’s lost all sense of self, he’s had to work to the bone not just to get to England, but just to survive, and when he finally gets there he’s treated as a criminal. His mental health was undoubtedly already in a bad state, and then he’s told to hide the one shed of identity he has left, to dawn a mask and cloak that makes him look more like a shadowy figure than a person. It’s no wonder the Masked Apprentice becomes so quiet and lifeless, he’s treated like a ghost so that’s what he becomes.
