BIRCH! A strange and rude entity, a HECKLER by default. Generally playful with most, though they seem to turn harsh and callous when encountering any ENAs, especially THE WORKER. (I cant help it, I love a hater.)

"Ah, ENA!? How many times do I have to see your rotten face around here? Find some other compost bin to poison! WAHaha!"

Their true nature is that of a HUNTER, they seem to have a single minded determination to exterminate ENAs overstaying their welcome. They see ENAs like overabundant weeds, needing to be pruned. Their tune is menacing, and the sound of a echoing cowbell is not something you want to hear approaching you at night!

"INVASIVE WEEDS like yourself will overtake this DECOSYSTEM without proper care...!" "If I don't have permission, let me know in song~!"

Sometimes, they can also be found poaching at the Purge Event—who knows how they managed to get in—but I suppose everyone's gotta have a hobby.

Their deeper connections are sparse and strange, they have a fierce rivalry with WORKER ENA, going out of their way to harm her. Though at the same time, wishes she would take better care of herself. "It would be better for the both of us." What's that supposed to mean!?

FIGHTER ENA (which belongs to @laugtherhyena hiiii) has somehow become a friend, of sorts. A friendly sporting rivalry of trying to KILL THE SHIT out of each other. FIGHTER treats it like sport and Birch treats it like challenge. They'd say she's a nuisance if you asked, but their guffawing laughter while sparring with her says otherwise.

They also have a strange connection to HOTELIER ENA (my other ena oc) they seem to have known eachother for some time, though why BIRCH doesn't go after HOTELIER, is unknown. It's likely to appease the HOTEL she services, isn't it? Don't kill the carnivorous plant while you're trying to get rid of flies, no?

OOC, but some couple character insp notes for some added context. Based a bit on the Slavic(and adjacent) folk tales about the Wild Hunt, ghostly hunters going after demons, or lost souls, it varies.

Also based on a swiss tradition, the Tschäggättä! Fearsome creatures that scare away winter spirits into the coming spring. Mischievous, though not malevolent. Will dunk you into a snowdrift if you're being an ass. I looooove this type of folkloric character....I will refrain from getting TOO into folklore itself, that'll have to be a diff post~ LOL

Thanks for enjoying my little beastie ;_; birch is really fun! They've been an existing oc w much of the same inspirations stated above, but theyve really grown a lot the more i wrote them in ENA-verse hehe. always fun to play toys in anothers world!

(For your fun event - let's take a page out of Bennet's book and Let's Light It Up! Your choice as to AU. You've done an amazing job so far with all the different asks, Mist. I can't wait to see what else you'll write.)

A small, well worn notebook is left out on a desk, with pages upon pages of writings on each Genshin character, their relationships to each other, their backstories and secrets. Things ordinary Teyvat citizens and even other characters don't know about them. In addition, there's notes about Celestia, Allogenes, The Great Archon War, and the truth behind Hilichurls.

On the last page of the book are the words,

"This world is not real."

The first to find it was Kaeya. He didn't know how he had gotten here,or why he was here,but he was alone in an empty room with only a desk. A desk with a strange book sitting on it's surface. He had opened the book,not really knowing what to expect.

Whatever he had expected,it for sure wasn't this.

At first,what he had read made him spiral. This world isn't real? He isn't real? He began to wonder what was truly real and what was not. Was this really the truth? If this world isn't real,than what is?

It had taken him a long time to understand the strange book. Soon after he had been controlled by a strange entity. They had puppeted him around,using him for various tasks. At first he hated the entity. Dispised it even. He hated the way they had taken away his free will,hated being controlled. He hated how he couldn't even talk to the other "vessels",because they didn't seem to remember being controlled. After a while however,as more joined him in awareness,his hatred began to fade into apathy. While others worshipped you,he simply ignored you. A part of him still hated you. Still loathed having to be hyper-aware of when you would control him again. Now,though,he preferred to pretend he had no idea of what this world truly was.

Oh he hated you. But he couldn't show it. Because you were his only chance at escape. You were his ticket out,and he'll be damned if he let's this opportunity slip away. Kaeya was going to leave this false world,one way or another.
