New Studyblr Alert!
Hi there! I’m Angharad, I’m 17 - graduating in 2021! I’m in my second year of part time study (BA Language Studies - French and German) with the Open University, with a burning passion for theatre on the side. I live in rainy Wales, in the UK.
My main blog is @acataleptic but this year I’m dedicating myself to a studyblr so I can document my progress and be a part of such a supportive community! My native languages are English and Welsh, and my culture is really dear to my heart.
Interests:
Classic literature // Leo Tolstoy, Jane Austen, the Brontë sisters, William Shakespeare, Thomas Hardy, Charles Dickens, Alexandre Dumas etc.
Theatre // Contemporary plays and musical theatre, some good ole Shakespeare can’t go wrong. Hopefully more involvement is to come during this year.
Languages // I love learning languages and learning about them, whether they’re a majority, minority or extinct language, I feel like there’s so much you can learn about culture and humanity through language.
Well-being // I’m always looking for ways to help promote my own well-being as well as the well-being of others. I do voluntary work locally, and I’m hoping that this blog will help me feel more productive, and in turn be useful for others! My New Year’s resolution to take up yoga is going slow but steady.
I’ve been inspired to take my education by the reigns by these wonderful blogs, who continue to put out useful content, and words of wisdom. A special thanks to them for doing what they do!

Let’s Talk About: Studying With The Open University! One of my biggest achievements in 2018 was completing my Degree with the Open University. Studying with the Open University has to be one of the most challenging things I have ever done.
G Suite for Education launched at The OU. This surely spells the end of some of their own clunkier, often experimental, though always engaging platforms and tools. These are tools I first used in 2001 and picked up a decade later. The OU were in the vanguard of putting education online. Sadly the recent news from The OU is deeply worrying as the level of ‘disruption’, not least with Google For…

will the OU ever be like other universities ?
will the OU ever be like other universities ?
This is both a reminder to me, and a suggestion to others. I find that far more is achieved by being positive and ‘can do’ without being overly enthusiastic to the point of being unreasonable. I am prone to say ‘yes’ to any request I get from people to do a thing. I was brought up where all request were met with a firm ‘no’ before I had even finished my sentence … It’s taken a few decades to get…

I don't think I've been on this blog in about six months but I really feel like I should update to let some of you guys see how I got on! So I graduated on the 16th September with a 2.1 in humanities (creative writing). My ceremony was held at the Barbican in London and it really was so amazing. It was easily my proudest moment. As much as I'd love to study a MA I can't currently justify splashing £20k with no financial help, so that will have to wait. A lot has changed in the last six months, probably for the better. I'm now single again. I have realised that I'm one of those people who crave love but when things get serious I really can't handle it. It makes me feel confined so I think from now on I really need to keep away from commitment so that I don't leave a trail of upset lovers behind me. It's never my attention to hurt anyone but I always seem to. Not to mention I feel stronger and more empowered alone. I'm not studying anything at the moment but I am teaching myself the important lifeskill of cooking. I'm also working out a few times a week and focusing on staying healthy. This is keeping me occupied. I am looking for another job. The one I have now is great but I'm sick of getting up at 4am and I would really lile a job where I can put my education to use. Hopefully I'll find something soon. I guess that will be my new years resolution. Anyway, how are you guys? I think I'm going to aim on being more active on here!
Got another 200 words down for my poetry part of this assignment. Honestly I’m banging my head against a brick wall for any clues on how to do this. I’m not interested in, the poems suck, and the question is grating on me.
Just need to get 200 more down and I should be ok. Definitely in the knowledge that this assignment will be low.
