At first I was conflicted when she served me first because I wanted to push my soup to you because serving the man first is reinforcing the patriarchal gender norms of the man having the power and getting things first. But then I realized that if she had served you first it would be reinforcing the idea that women need to be catered to. So really no one gets to eat, that’s the only way to fix the problem.
