A Paradan woman tried to stab another Gamma Quadrant alien in the Replimat today. She was put in a holding cell, along with the alien, who had pulled out what looked like a bomb and threatened to blow up everyone in the vicinity. The argument was unclear, but it seemed that it was personal, not politically motivated.
The bomb is being inspected by DS9′s principal scientists. It’s quite unfamiliar, made of bionetic components and a fluctuating energy field. They’re not even sure it can actually explode; the only function they can figure out how to initiate is to make it change colors.
It’s been a while since something like that has happened outside of Quark’s Bar, where this sort of thing happens all the time. The Replimat is a more peaceful location.
