But I'm going to go ahead and add that I think Vincent absolutely gets incredibly flustered when he receives gifts from those he cares about. Roach buys him a bright pink t-shirt that says "bigfoot is real and i kissed him tenderly under the moonlight" as a gag gift and he thinks about it for WEEKS.

Name something they would never do for the other person.

OHOHO this is an interesting one..... okay I'm gonna get a bit sad here.

One thing Oliver would never do for Roach is, even if they asked him to, he absolutely would never be comfortable yelling at them. Oliver doesn't like to raise his voice in general, even when he's upset, and sometimes Roach REALLY gets antagonistic and tries to piss off those around them, because when Roach really gets in their head, they have trouble processing that anyone actually likes them. So, Roach tries to provoke those around them into proving that they don't actually like Roach. It's as stressful as it sounds. This is a habit they eventually do fall out of, but it makes things tough at first.

Alright, I'm not quite sure how to answer this for the rest of the polycule, but I do wanna make a note that a big part of Oliver and Roach's dynamic at the start of A Modern Ghost Story is that Roach is... very aware of the fact that Oliver likes them, and they're determined not to acknowledge it because the idea of someone having romantic feelings for them again after how things ended with Vulture kinda freaks them out. Plus, they've got big time self-esteem issues </3 Roach my beloved,,,,

How have they changed each other for the better/for the worse?

This is something that's gonna happen more in the actual story, but one thing that definitely changes is that Oliver helps Roach really open up and accept parts of themself that they're usually determined to push down and hide away. Roach also helps Oliver become a lot more confident and outgoing, sure of himself in a way he hasn't been in a long time.

Still figuring things out for Vincent, but I really like the idea that Roach helps him overcome some of the toxic masculinity he was raised with and accept that he might not actually be cis after all!

Arthur/Noah:

How do they silently/subtly express their love for each other?

Oh, there are SO many ways, but to keep this from getting TOO long I'll just list one or two for each of them.

Arthur is very much the kind of person who expresses affection through action. I think the way he'd most often express subtle affection for Noah is by doing little things for him, like helping him clean or getting him his favorite food. Actually one of my favorite parts of the confession scene with these two is like,,, Arthur ordered food for them both, and he made sure to get Noah's favorite b/c he knew Noah had a rough day. Arthur is a sweetheart.

Noah, meanwhile, is a bit like a cat in some ways. I think he's very much the type who subtly expresses affection by just spending time with someone, either cuddling up with them or just hanging out without saying anything. I think a common occurrence with these two would just be like. Arthur and Noah sitting together on the couch, Arthur playing his videogames and Noah typing away on his laptop. Just enjoying each other's company.

(Now and then Noah leans over to see what Arthur's doing and ask him questions about it, because even if Noah doesn't understand Pokemon, he likes how enthusiastically Arthur explains it.)

What’s their favorite “domestic bliss” moment? Do they cook/clean together? Do they like to go out shopping together?

Oh they absolutely cook and clean together whenever they can!! It doesn't always work out with their schedules, especially after they get married, but they try to whenever they can. If they can't cook together, they usually operate on the system of like... whoever doesn't cook is the one who cleans up afterward (though usually they both end up helping there too).

I'm a firm believer also in the intimacy (not even necessarily romantic) of going to the grocery store with someone. So I imagine that's something they would really enjoy doing, especially early in their relationship.

Markus/Juno:

What’s something that reminds them of their partner(s)? Do they have anything on them daily as a reminder (a photo, phone background, tattoo, clothing/accessory, etc)?

Time to be sad on main-

Anyway I think Juno carries a few reminders of Markus with them, the most significant of which that comes to mind immediately is an old lighter. It doesn't really work anymore, but it's a nice one that he gave them a few years or so into knowing each other. I think it'd even be a family heirloom, given to him by his father or grandfather--he decided to give it to them because he doesn't have anyone else to pass it on to. Juno keeps it in their pocket, and when they're overwhelmed or anxious, fiddling with it calms them down.

As for things Markus would have to remind him of Juno... that's something I'm gonna have to think about, hmm :3c

The Roach Polycule:

Do they have any favorite activities to do together?

I think they have a lot of things they'd like to do together, but one thing that I love thinking about is the idea of them setting aside a night each week, whenever possible, to spend time together and do whatever one of them wants to do. They rotate each time, and it's a great way to bond and hang out. They'll have movie nights, game nights, and much more! Just spending time together is fun <3

One thing that I think they do semi-often is have like. Little competitions. Like they'll play Mario Kart or something, and it will very quickly get out of hand. Oliver isn't very competitive, but Roach and Vincent very much are. He thinks it's fun to watch them go FERAL.

Who drives and who picks out the music?

Roach is the only one in the polycule who is not allowed to drive under any circumstances. They've never been in a bad accident, but it's been close enough that Oliver (as gently and lovingly as possible) insists on driving. That's okay, though, because that means Roach always picks the music <3 Oliver has definitely developed a fondness for vaporwave after listening to them blast it while he's driving.

Vincent, meanwhile, usually gets relegated to the backseat whenever they're all in the car together. He made one too many jokes about Roach needing a booster seat b/c they're short, and now they won't let him sit in the front. Sometimes, though, they'll let him pick the music, because they're very nice and forgiving that way.

(Oliver thinks this whole thing is hilarious.)

What is their most useless skill?

Roach - Roach's most useless skill is that they can do a cartwheel. They took gymnastics a little as a kid and that's the one thing they retained.

Oliver - Oliver is the kind of person who can perfectly time his naps. If he says he's going to take a nap for 20 minutes, he'll be done in 20 minutes.

Vincent - Vincent can whistle! He likes to whistle when he cleans or does other tasks that he can zone out during.

Faolan - I don't know if this necessarily counts as useless, but Faolan has really good reflexes and can almost always catch anything you throw at them, provided it's not too heavy.

What do they wear to sleep?

Roach - Roach usually just wears a t-shirt and shorts to sleep if they actually remember to change into pajamas. Most of the time, they just conk out in whatever they were wearing that day.

Oliver - Oliver likes to wear nice, comfortable sleep pants when he goes to bed <3 If it's cold, he'll also wear an old t-shirt, but if it's hot he'll just sleep shirtless.

Vincent - Vincent is pretty similar to Roach in that, sometimes, he'll just sleep in whatever he was wearing that day. However, he USUALLY tries to change into a sleep-shirt and pants. Usually.

Faolan - Faolan has a nice tunic and pair of pants that they wear to sleep, though they also more often than not fall asleep in their dayclothes.

Do they talk to themselves when they’re alone? When they’re with others?

Roach - Oh, yeah, Roach talks to themself all the time when they're alone, and sometimes even with others. They're the reigning monarch of Monologue Mountain.

Oliver - He talks to himself sometimes when he's alone, but he gets self-conscious about it when others are around. Still, Roach has rubbed off on him, and he's done it more often since getting to know them.

Vincent - Vincent really doesn't tend to talk to himself, at least not out loud.

Faolan - Faolan talks to themself pretty much all the time, though they try to do it quietly because they get very self-conscious.

Do they take their coffee/tea in a fun mug? If so, what is it?

Roach - Roach has probably at least ten different fun mugs that they take their coffee in. Their favorite one says "#1 Dad."

Oliver - Oliver has a few fun mugs, but not nearly as many as Roach. His favorite one is one that his auntie got him! It's shaped like a kitty cat.

Vincent - Vincent doesn't really have a lot of fun mugs, but he does have a "women want me, fish fear me" one Roach gave him as a gag gift once. He tells himself he's using it out of spite.

Faolan - Faolan doesn't really have any fun mugs to take their tea in. I think the closest they have is a mug with the name of their high school on it. They'd probably appreciate a silly/cute mug, though.
