it honestly baffles me how the The Script, an Irish band, is still so popular today here in the Philippines. not only do they keep having concerts all the way here, but they’ve also guested several times in a local radio show (video above is the most recent upload).
don’t get me wrong, their songs are amazing (I even have a dedicated folder for them among my music files). but Filos don’t really engage that much with Irish culture on a whole, so I wonder how we even got attached to them in the first place. (they also don’t seem to be that popular in other countries? I had a Filo online friend based in the USA, and she said they’re not that known there)
like, yeah, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved is a classic, but just how is their cultural impact so strong over here???
