Said localised cloud did make for some pretty atmospheric photos once I’d climbed up to the foot of the Old Man. The walk up from the car park isn’t all that long, distance-wise, and there is a proper path, but it’s very steep and there’s a very slippery section that they’re working on proper stone steps for. The Old Man of Storr (not to be confused with the Old Man of Stoer, which is elsewhere) is the high, kind of almond-shaped pinnacle but I’m not sure if its pointy neighbour has a name. Reminded me a bit of Iceland, actually.
