The Third Booth - I Need Love (1967)
I used to have an unlabeled cassette of 60s garage punk. There were several great songs on that tape (Bad Roads - Blue Girl, Zakary Thaks - Bad Girl, The Squires - Going All the Way) Then there was one song which seemed to be titled “I Need You” - not the Kinks classic mind you, but another very cool song. For years I’d tried to track it down, but no luck. I recently tried again and listened to a whole lot of I Need You’s - the Other Half, Chessmen, Rationals, Undesyded, John English III and the Heathens, Big Beats…the list goes on. Then, while listening to another clip of a song, I saw this song - a slightly different title but maybe… This is the ONE! And it’s just as great as I remembered. The Third Booth (that’s where they hung out) were from that rock ‘n' roll capital, Canton, Illinois.
