“The Thug” T3F#1
Sunshine runes through the hole in the roof, you slowly awaken to the smooth snoring of your wife. You lean over a move auburn hair from her face. You would kill to see her in a fully functioning home. A home without leaks in the fall, a home that stays warm in the winter. She still believes when you tell her you work in the factory. She must know somethings up, she's washes the blood stains from your cloths more than once. But you couldn’t believe when you landed a security job for a powerful benefactor. You stealthily get out of bed trying not to wake her. You leave the house around nine in the morning. You walk down the dirty Italian streets. Along the way you see a pubic news stand. Mostly its just supposed victories over the down turned economy. The date is March/1/1926. your mission for today was to escort they Benito Mussolini to meet the pope. Of course he wouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the pope himself. But it was a huge opportunity to work under Mussolini himself. You had heard rumors of Mussolini working a deal out with the Catholic Church. This would change everything, Italy is starving for a strong leader as is. Everyone knows that the heart of Italy is in its church. If he landed this deal all of Italy would fall under his control. His promises of protection from corrupt capitalism and a new strong and stable government has swept through the nation. You yearn for his promises to be true. You finally arrive at your destination. Near the center of town is a strong looking court house, this is where you receive your assignments. You enter in and are led into a room near the center of the building. A grave man gives you your file, you open it. Inside is a small wad of cash. But instead of the location of Mussolini you get a pistol, an address, and a picture of a man. You let out a sigh. You know what this means, you aren’t going to escort Mussolini. You are going to “remove a threat from our borders” and “remove a pest”. You breathe a silent prayer and with the hands of a practiced soldier you slide back the cylinder until there is a slight click, and head off to finish your “assignment”.
