as a sort of follow-up question to the ask i just sent you: how did Liz feel about becoming a vampire early on (for example, right after she was bitten by her sire or even just those early days/weeks when she was changing) versus how she feels about being a vampire now, after having been one for centuries?

Yes, hi!

Okay, so funnily enough it didn't actually take her a long time to come to terms with this being the crazy turn her life took—the way she died and got back up on that horse is rather emblematic of that.

She does adapt to it really fast—but yeah, and I guess her feelings on being a vampire early on definitely get onto "well that's fucking unfortunate and annoying" vein.

Maybe a touch of feeling cursed because of the whole this basically feels like an extension of her sadism being a bad thing that shouldn't be allowed to exist, and maybe even a Reason for this whole thing happening, but the vampiric nature rather quickly filtering most of that out in lieu of just— Survival and adapting to the new reality. And she really just—kept up on that front until now—probably needed to do more work on accepting her sadism properly then her being a vampire.

It definitely twined itself somewhere in there but soon enough there wasn't even much guilt in her, it couldn't keep finding purchase.

Ultimately she settled down on her current conclusions rather quickly in her new life, even if there was certainly some level of misery involved in her initial trying to stick around, doing what she's been doing already just take to being nocturnal.

Sadly the level of ground to cover that that required of her eventually leads her to some deeply uncomfortable and frankly somewhat traumatic experiences as she finds a way to survive through the day no matter where she has to stop, and having a very close brush with someone's perceived kindness backfiring in the worst possible way?

Taking the step to move to Europe certainly helped her fully accept her circumstances. And she had space to work out everything else that kept catching on her edges in her travels.

But yeah. It's. It wasn't a big jump ultimately between her initial perception and one she has right now.

Being able to accommodate one's needs properly truly can do wonders to one's perception of reality.
