I can’t believe there’s no actual fandom around Die Welle/The Wave. It’s a serious movie, but we have so many teens to analyze. There are so many things you can assume about the characters even if it wasn’t said out loud. We never got to know more about the characters because obviously the movie is not about silly teens living their lives. But I could spend hours explaining the friendships or friend groups we see, the dynamics between people, etc. I’ve seen the movie many, many times and used it in 80% of my exams. I could answer any question about the characters even the actors. I even ended up talking with the singer of the band who made a clip for the movie with their song.
Anyways, if you’re a Die Welle fan and want to talk about it, I’m up for it. I just never made any post about this movie because a lot of people who watched it did so for school, for the autocratic aspect. They never got into the characters or what is hinted about them, so posting about it would lowkey make me look schizophrenic.
