Difficult Questions for Muses
7. Have you ever done anything that you feel to be very morally wrong?
Perhaps once upon a time, when he was still a child fighting for his life to survive the basic training to join Caesar's ranks. But as he grew older and as the Legion became the only real sense of law and justice that he knew, there's no point in concerning himself with personal feelings of morality.
Morals and ethics are nothing more than social constructs; what Caesar deems moral and immoral are vastly different than what the NCR would deem so. And as long as his actions venerate the Legion, what do morals matter? The ends always justify the means.
14. Have you ever doubted your own beliefs? (Spiritual, philosophical)
No. Doubting his own beliefs would be a sign of weakness or a lack of trust in Caesar. His confidence in his own ability and Caesar's leadership is the backbone of everything that grants him his success. Without this staunch and infallible conviction, his very position would be untenable.
It was his own confidence that his plan was superior to his Centurion's that spared him crucifixion for disobeying orders. With as many in the Legion that disagree with his tactics and methods, he has to have the utmost faith in his own plans to see them through and prove that he is worthy of the title he holds.
The only time his spiritual beliefs ever falter is in the event that Caesar succumbs to the brain tumour. But that won't happen, right? We collectively aren't going to let Caesar die to a brain tumour, right?
