When Tony asked Cassie to meet him in his workshop on a random Wednesday afternoon, she was understandably a little apprehensive. Typically, they went on outings, had fun, acted like a family, but this sounded way more serious. Unlike some of the other adult (old) heroes, Tony had never been outright against the Young Avengers forming. Tony had also never gotten mad at Cassie when it was revealed that she had been stealing Pym Particles from under his nose and she liked to think that was because uncle Tony was relaxed. He supported her regardless of how difficult it was! After losing her father, the person Cassie loved more than anyone in the world, the thought of upsetting Tony also made her nauseous. All in all, it was a terrifying meeting, but Cassie was fearless. She was a superhero, she could handle Iron Man at his worst!
When she arrived at the workshop, Cassie was still nervously chewing on her lip. She tried to act as cavalier as possible, but obviously, stage had never been what she excelled at. (Luckily, Cassie could ignore the fact that her fingertips were shrinking, and she could hide it thanks to her long sleeves. Thanks, Pym Particles!) “Hey,” she greeted Tony with a forced smile. Idly, she wracked her brain for what Tony could want to talk to her about. Scott was a possible, so was her status as ‘returned’ and… yeah, the minor issue of Cassie working briefly with the Power Broker. There wasn’t a lack of topics currently. “What’s up? What’re you working on?” She asked quickly, hoping to derail Tony entirely.
