A card waits for her. On the picture on the front is a vintage image of a child holding a candy cane. Inside is written: Surprise, somewhere in my office, I have hidden a box of candy. If you can find it without destroying the place, there is another waiting for you on my person. Merry Christmas, Arthur.
Shock was pretty sure she had a nightmare starring the child on the card once, she was also certain that it involved a candy cane. The irony of her opening the card as she was hiding Arthur’s present in his office wasn’t lost on her as she finished taping the last snowflake into place. First, a warm smile came across her face at the thought Arthur put into her gift. Second, came the dread when she realized she should have opened his card first before turning his office into a winter wonderland, glitter bombs and all.
Shock let out a sigh as she mumbled a soft “son of a bitch” under her breath. She went to the door to stick her head out, “JIMMY, I’M GONNA NEED YOUR LADDER AGAIN!” Shock yelled to the janitor busy mopping down the hall. It was time to get to work undoing all her hard work to find her gift.
