(I'm assuming no one minds me replying to comments in a reply post, tagged, so I don't reblog my own stuff excessively?)

"If it ain’t broke – well, break it utterly, and see what you can do with the pieces…” This accurately describes what you’ve done to my feelings.
*sings Meatloaf* I actually made myself kind of sad with this one. As I was writing the Nice Bit With The Bacon, and I could just see what was going to happen at the end. Kind of "...oh... Zeph, don't do - yeah, don't do that. ...oh. ;_;"
Even worse when you think that, in this setting - there never was SoI. They never met Lysander, or Granny Bacon, and KP was dead before they even (briefly) passed through Terrorvale. No history to escape from, means no hanging around in Wildlands ports looking for cheap transport, so no Lomadia (and therefore no Nilesy). No magic means no Lalna / Rythian conflict - so no Rythian, or Zoey, or Tee. Never anything positive with Sips / Sjin, just some rather unpleasant implications of post-Voltz actions.
So it's really just them. And a very bitter Ridge, with no reason to see anyone as anything other than tools, and desperate to restore himself by any means.
Well, and Lalna. But I know where he is.
spookyghostlings Your X/Zephos always has this teetering, unexpected edge of vulnerability to him that I really like. And then of course he goes and does something completely horrible, but, y’know.
He's been through a lot, poor thing(s). I am having far too much fun seeing how differently they've come out - the 'split' between these timelines comes after First Night, so they started off as the same person, if rather a blank slate.
A yoglabs-version of Xephos really does have to be the morally dubious one (intrigued to see what they do 'in canon'), but it's interesting to see how you could end up with someone like that, compared to Xephos from The End series, from the same starting point. I mean, the Op-thing hasn't helped, but while it's not good for overall sanity levels, it's more something that exacerbates elements you already have.
(I will be doing something with Op'd Xephos at some point... but frankly I think that's going to end up in the Somewhat-Abstract(etc) tag again)
roseyanon *slow exhale* fuuuck. goddamn ento. goddamn. in just a slightly different mood, i think i would have cried. i probably will when i re-read this. goddamn.
I warned! Kind of. 'Warning:Entofic' is probably a good catch-all ;)
I like how there is no Survival Games in the Divergence-timeline. No repeated tendency to be kidnapped, transported to a pocket dimension and forced to fight your friends and family, repeatedly, to the death for the entertainment / nutrition(?) of a smirking Demigod - and this is actually a bad thing. Oh, my brain. What even.
ursy153 ento, what are you doing? I can tell this isnt going to end well…
What did you DO?!
*horrible cackling*
I mean... nothiiiing?
