"Your birthday's today, huh? Have a good one, pal," the chimera said, handing the other a sword maintenance kit with a bottle of champagne. "I know ya take pride in that blade of yours, and I figured a drink wouldn't kill ya. You could probably enjoy it with Marta later or somethin'. ...but, yeah. Happy birthday!"

"--where the hell did you find this?" 

"Hah! This is cool... --and thanks, I think I will."

Traumatic BD

Traumatic: I'll write my or your characters going through a traumatic experience.

To say 'it was going to be a long night' would be the understatement of the century. 

The plan had seemed relatively simple, at first. Greed wanted to get into Arkham City (that alone was enough to turn several heads). The reason being was there'd been rumors in the underground that the secret to immortality was locked away, somewhere in the prison. And considering inmates from Blackgate were being tossed into the facility along with patients from Arkham Asylum, itself, one would think all you would need to do was get arrested and you'd be thrown into the mix and boom, you're in.

... it was quickly discovered that the man in charge wasn't simply a warden. And he wasn't simply the head running the dysfunctional body. No. He was much worse than all of that. ...he knew things. A lot of things. He had to have. Because instead of simply being arrested, they were knocked out as soon as they were piled into the police vehicle. And instead of immediately being thrown into the walled off area of city, she woke up to a void of darkness. Her arms and legs strapped tightly to her sides and the back of her skull locked against what she assumed was the ground. Something was covering her eyes. And whatever it was, it was tied tightly around her face. ...he knew about her eyes. 

"I must admit that my patience with you is wearing rather thin." The voice was low, monotone. A familiar snarl cut through the silence, causing her to jump instinctively. --One of the guys was in here. It... had to be Dolcetto or Axel. She couldn't tell. "All I ask is that you answer my question. And you may be on your way. ...for the time being."

"And I told you, jackass--" Axel. "--there's nothin' 'special' 'bout me or the others. Now let me--"

There was a short, high-pitched sound, followed by the unmistakable sound of an electric shock, and immediately after a pained yelp. Naomi cringed, closing her fists, an order to 'stop' caught in her throat. She could hear strained panting and footsteps slowly traveling across the room before a door opened and promptly shut. Silence again. 

"........................ Axe--"

"--F-f-fuckin' h-hell!--" Guess he hadn't noticed she was awake. She attempted rolling her wrists, but simply froze up. 

"...are you okay?"

When his only response was a short, heavily sarcastic laugh, she took that as a 'no'. But for once, such a response didn't piss her off. If he was in the same situation she was--added on with that shock--there was no way he was reliving pleasant memories right now. She could feel the panic radiating through the room. From both of them. And her hair shifting against her neck told her that, though still disguised, her snakes were anxious and frightened. 

"S-some plan, h-huh?" He asked suddenly. "Heh...f-f'I knew... we'd just wind ...back-k up in...'itua-ation like this, would'a qu-quit from the start."

"Who the hell was that?"

"C-calls 'mself 'Strange'. A-asswipe. ...s-says he-he'll let us go...soon's he gets. What 'e wants."

"--So the others are--"

"I'nno."

Naomi shut her mouth. She didn't know how much longer he'd been awake than her. This 'strange' guy might have been questioning him for a while. He didn't want to talk; his voice was already shaking as it was, and she knew he wouldn't want her to notice that despite how painfully obvious it wa--

The door swung open. There was a movement of more than one pair of shoes, and almost immediately, Axel began snarling again. But something abruptly silenced him. "--Axel?!"

"Once he is sedated, move him to entrance gate B2. By the time the next group is allowed out, he should be more than capable of fending for himself." The low voice. Strange. "And sedate the girl, as well. But keep her here. ... perhaps she will be more. Cooperative." 

"--What?!--No!--I don't know where you assholes are, b--" something punctured her neck. A heat shot through her veins and all at once, she felt dazed. "Leave...--leave him al...--don't know...what ...you've done...t....to...h" She lost feeling in her hands and limbs, the numbness traveling through the rest of her. The last thing she heard was the phrase 'move the leader to my personal study'.

... if we even make it into the actual prison, Big Shot. I'm personally mailing your ass to the clown himself...
