“Why would it be so bad if Clarke gets left behind? She’ll be reunited with everyone in 5 years anyways. And we won’t even have to experience the separation because of the time jump.”
Because Clarke’s woodland self-banishment at the end of season 2 was the worst thing this show ever did. It completely fucked Clarke up mentally, it broke my heart, it broke the Delinquent’s hearts, and it fractured friendships. And that was only 3 months.
I cannot survive 5 years of separation and neither can Clarke. She will be alone and away from her friends, again. Imagine how fucked up Clarke will be when they finally return? Imagine the awkwardness between her and everyone, as they have created a rapport and comfortable atmosphere without her, and she feels completely out of place? Imagine all of the inner jokes and stories she won’t be privy to?
I’m tired of Clarke being an outsider with her own friends all the time. Oftentimes it feels like she’s not even part of the inner circle anymore and it’s heartbreaking.
