The first-ever official soundtrack to a Valancourt book! THE AMBER COMPLEX is an album by Hungarian dark synth pop act Clayfeet, inspired by Attila Veres’ short story "The Amber Complex" from his collection THE BLACK MAYBE. It is out now and available on Bandcamp. Listen to it at pornaftermidnight(dot)com or on Bandcamp.
In Veres' story "The Amber Complex", the protagonist ends up in a strange winery offering so-called "complexes". By tasting the drinks one gets a glimpse into other lives or worlds. Each round brings a new batch named after a color from Blue to Indigo, but few people make it to the end: the Amber Complex...
The album consists of seven tracks, each complex represented by one song. Just like the stories hidden in the complexes, the album varies in style (even within tracks) from gloomy downtempo through trippy techno and dark synthwave to horror industrial metal and ambient space-synthpop.
