Summary:

Sam just wants to turn eighteen and leave this life behind, the stares from everyone in town, the distrust in their sister's eyes, the constant misgendering, and the violent jobs that their father, the King of Hell, thinks are appropriate for his child to carry out in order to one day rule his domain.

But when Dear Old Demon Dad assigns has the task of retrieving escaped souls from the mortal high school in town, Sam really doesn't want to be the one to do it. But, they've never been able to resist their dad for long. So, to high school they go. The job turns out to be more difficult than any of the others, but their best friend Sandra and a few new Hellish friends of theirs with nearly as much parental troubles as them, Sam thinks that maybe it won't be so bad.

But, Sam's father was right about one thing, maybe Sam does have a responsibility to the world. Just not the one their father tried to force onto them. And unfortunately for the tired teen, this is only the beginning.
