4: Talk about the thing you regret most so far.

Same as it’s been for the last decade or two - that I never pursued professional acting as a career.  That feeling is somewhat tempered by the fact that if I had chosen that path, I likely would never have met my partner, and I probably wouldn’t be living a comfy life of (albeit soul-sucking) job stability and not worrying about my weight.  Still, I’ve never entirely stopped thinking about it.

14: Talk about a vacation.

Back when Obama was still President of the United States and Boyf and I had only just moved in together, we spent a week in Disney World.  We stayed at Port Orleans resort and only fought once the whole time.  A bird shat on my head at Epcot.  It’s a nice memory, nonetheless.

24: Talk about something someone told you that meant a lot.

You’ve probably heard this one already, but Jared Padalecki told me, “don’t let perfect be the enemy of great” when I asked if he had any acting advice for me. It’s something I’ve tried to apply ever since when I’m berating myself for not being impeccable with acting or writing or work or whatever.  He also told me pretty forcefully to keep acting, and that’s what I hear in my conscience when I see an audition notice and can’t be arsed to drag myself out.

Did y’all know that this Thursday is National Pie Day? The day before Dean’s birthday. I’m pretty stoked. Gonna have Hubby buy some premade crusts (because I suck at rolling out dough) and make myself some pie.

HEY BABE. What's your favorite series you've written and why?

HI CUTIE. My favorite series I’ve ever written is Where the Sidewalk Ends, because the reader was such a reflection of me as a person and what I’m all about. I hope to finish it one day, but I sadly lost the will for it. I kind of want to delete it and start over, remaster is a bit, but I don’t know if anyone would even be interested in reading it.

2. You talked to an ex today, correct? Nope.  Last time I talked to an ex was a couple weeks ago when I ran into him at the sandwich shop on my lunch break.  He has a new baby!  Better her than me!

12. Do you own a pair of skinny jeans?  I own three pairs of jeggings, which I feel is even worse.

22. Would you ever want to swim with sharks? Probably not?  I’m not big on hanging out with animals that might eat me.  Also I’m not a very strong swimmer (because that would totally save me).  I did swim with a dolphin once.  It was underwhelming.

32. Does the person you have feelings for right now, know you do? This question is making a huge assumption that I only have feelings for one person, when the fact is I have feelings for many people, real and imaginary, at all times.  Like, Boyf is the obvious answer and I certainly hope he knows I love him, I tell him and show him multiple times every day.   Being that we’re monogamous, that means I never act on or share any feelings I may have for anyone else.

42. Did you hug/kiss one of your parents today? Technically yes! I hugged my mom shortly after midnight last night.

52. Do you think musicals are cheesy? They sure can be! That’s not going to stop me from wanting to perform in every one of them!

62. What do you wear to bed? Usually PJ pants and a big t-shirt or tank top.  If it’s too warm I’ll ditch one or both of them.

72. Ever won a spelling bee? So it’s sixth grade, I’m the gifted kid and the fuckin’ queen of spelling and grammar, and I make it to the city-wide spelling bee finals.  It’s down to me and one other kid in the final round.  I’m given the word, “liquid” and think I have it in the bag.  Then (I’m told, as I have no memory of it and to this day would pass a lie detector test to that effect), I stepped up to the microphone and said, “Liquid. L-I-C-U-I-D. Liquid.”  The other kid won.

82. Favorite type of cookie? Mom’s shortbread or Chips Ahoy Soft n’ Chewy.

92. Do you want to get married?  Yeah, but after 8 and a half years together, I’ve kinda come to accept that Boyf doesn’t.

ASH!!!! Haven’t heard from you in an age!!

33. Is there anything you wish your audience knew about your writing or writing process?

Hmmmm...maybe... Maybe just that writing is what can finally happen after I’ve satisfied everything else, but sadly only after I have satisfied everything else. I mean, I can sit here and write this kind of thing all day, but coming up with a fictional story takes some extra part of me that doesn’t kick in until I’ve had enough sleep, my checkbook is balanced, my desk is fairly clear, and I’ve had a few days of what others might consider lonely boredom. That inner voice just isn’t loud enough to be heard over other stuff. It’s not that I don’t want to, and don’t fall asleep every night planning a story, but life is just too distracting. To do NaNoWriMo the years that I did, I cleared my calendar COMPLETELY, and still struggled to spit out 1667 words a day. And I’d be wiped at the end of it, needing a few days of sleep to start off December. Since we bought the house with my mother living in the apartment off the back, I haven’t had much lonely boredom. I miss it terribly, but with her health issues, she needs me to be there for her every day, even if it’s just to do her dishes. As much as I want to write and provide content, I just can’t do it, right now.

34. Copy and paste an excerpt you’re particularly fond of.

I pulled up a fic of mine from mostly random, and picked a bit that I really liked. This is from Homesick, from one of the Louden Swain books. It’s actually the first paragraph.

“Jericho isn’t that far from Palo Alto, relatively. Sam’s been all over the country, knows distances in terms of Zeppelin albums and pit stops to gas up the Impala, and Palo Alto to Jericho didn’t even make his butt fall asleep. If he’d “borrowed” a car, he’d be worried about the cops stopping him, that’s how close to home he is.”

(The bit about his butt falling asleep was the inspiration for the paragraph. @manawhaat and @littlegreenplasticsoldier made the rest great!)

That is the best question, you’re far too kind. <3  Tragically, I don’t have the pipes for some of my favourite musical roles like Christina Daae or Elphaba, but I really think I could rock the shit out of Lady Macbeth.

Fuck, what am I saying?  My dream role is anything that allows me to make the hell out with Jared Padalecki or Dacre Montgomery.

Babe, this is a thing that everyone should be part of lol. Read this and enjoy your life. I’d like to say something about how I am/was ashamed to read this or that I was weirded out but that’d be a fucking lie. I was/am fully into it. The writing alone is wonderful and they get all the kudos for creativity. I think about this fic literally every time I eat or see corn and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
