6 - What is your favorite song as of the moment?It changes hourly, but End Credits by EDEN is one I find myself going back to a lot, Jailbreak by AWOLNATION is another.

7 - If you were stranded on an island, who do you wish to be with?I would have to agree that we would be an interesting and fun mix.

8 - What do you feel right now?Neutral I guess, wishing I was further along in this study book.

31 - What kind of person do you want to date?Someone who is fine with cuddling, playing (video) games, doing cheesy dating things, I’d be totally down for listening to their interests, and even explore what they like, as well as explore new things together. Pretty much not picky, just someone I can trust really.

62 - If you can change anything about yourself, what is it?Physically? Either be a bit more shaped up, toned muscle but nothing big, or the lack of my defect would be nice, but yeah, having a toned figure would be nice.

77 - What kind of person are you?I wanna say I’m a kind and caring person that makes a few honest mistakes, which I regret.

80 - How can you prove your love to someone?By telling them how much I love them and care about them and  try my best to push away all the negatives in their life and make them feel happy again and remind them that they’re doing the best they can. Of course food and other gifts work as well to.

91 - Do you believe in the phrase “If it’s meant to be, it will be”?Sorta, but I do not believe it should imply that the best course of action is inaction, as I believe that is how some situations become “it wasn’t meant to be”

92 - Who do you want to marry?The person I love, care about, would pretty much do anything for, can’t really name any one person right now, believe I need to get my life started somewhere before I start going that far as an option.

93 - Do you believe in destiny?Eh, not quite, we all have control over our own situations with no true or clearly set destiny.

Prompt:. Lionel is moving (work reasons, maybe), and drunk, desperate Reese visits him the night before to try and convince him to stay. Rusco ensues. You said you missed Rusco, hope this helps :P

I do miss Rusco. I exist in a perpetual state of “hey remember that scene where reese growled in his ear and smacked him on the ass with a file? those were good times”

The past few days, it’s been jarring coming home. The bare walls, the stacks of cardboard boxes, the space the couch left when he dragged it out, wedged it in the freight elevator, and left it by the curb for scavengers to pick at. For the first few seconds after he turns on the light, Fusco always thinks he’s been robbed.

This is the first time the expected intruder has appeared, materializing in the shadow of boxes with “Kitchen” scrawled on them in black Sharpie, a huddled, dark-suited shape.

Fusco taps the door shut with his foot. “Hey, John.”

Reese grunts.

Fusco comes a little closer, tucks the plastic bag - Comet, sponges, bleach, steel wool - underneath his arm. “Come on in. Take your coat off. Make yourself at home.”

“You never said you were moving.”

He winces. “Nah. I told Glasses. Figured he’d bring it up to you one of these days.” Fusco steps over Reese’s long legs and into the kitchen, eyes front like when you walk past a homeless person. “You smell like a liquor store,” he says, bright and casual, busily unloading cleaning supplies across the counter and trying to ignore the sound of Reese rustling against cardboard boxes behind him, Reese getting to his feet.

“Why didn’t you tell me, Lionel?”

Hasn’t heard that in a while, that icy, knife-between-the-ribs tone. Fusco almost missed it.

“Listen, Mr. Sunshine. I know you think you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, but this is actually a good opportunity for me. My life expectancy just shot up. Maybe try being happy for me, for once in your life.”

“Heh.” Fusco feels the breath on the back of his head and it makes him jump. “What’s to celebrate? You’re trading in the inevitable for a slow, wasting death from boredom.”

“Upstate’s not that bad.” Fusco ignores the heat on the back of his neck, wets a sponge, dusts the kitchen sink with Comet and starts to scrub. “And I got a kid to look out for. Frankly, I can use the time.” He stares intently into the ashy, powdery green swirls on the metal of the sink. “Anyway, it’s not like I’m leaving the country. If you need me for something, just call me. It’s only...” He feels Reese’s hands curl in the back of his t-shirt, Reese’s forehead knock against the back of his neck. “...Buffalo.”

He stands there, chemicals under his fingernails, thick, boozy-sweet smell at his neck.

“Why’d’n’t you tell me you were moving, Lionel?” Reese asks again.

Fusco takes a deep breath, shifts like he’s gonna duck out from under Reese’s hands. Reese grips him hard, right at the base of his skull, and squeezes.

“Didn’t think you’d want me to go.” He rolls his shoulders, feels Reese press down harder, hold him in place. “I told Finch, figured he’d let you know if he wanted you to. Guess he didn't.”

He feels rather than hears the rumble in Reese’s chest, pressed flat against his back.

“’M sorry. Guess I shoulda said something. It’s not like I’m...like I’m trying to escape or anything. I did a lot of good work with you. I’ll keep doing it if you want me to, but this is a good opportunity for me. I can’t hang around here and be your whipping boy forever.”

Reese doesn’t loose his grip, just moves his head, really digs into Fusco’s shoulders with his thick fucking skull.

“You’re my partner,” he mumbles.

“Oh.” Fusco’s heart thuds. “Okay.”

“I want you to stay here.”

“Well, I’m not gonna do that.”

Reese makes a fist in Fusco’s shirt and tugs back like he means to choke him with the neckline. “Stay.”

“Or what? You’ll kill me? Great. Go for it. Guess all that stuff about me turning myself around and being a better man was bullshit and you’re just gonna kill me in my kitchen. Know what? Get it over with and don’t waste my fuckin’ time.”

“Or nothing.”

“What?”

Reese clears his jagged, booze-roughened throat. “Or nothing. I’m not going...you can leave if you want to. I won’t...hurt you. I just don’t want you to leave.”

The tap drips, a conspicuous splat of water on metal. “Oh,” Fusco says again.

“This is a good opportunity for you, Lionel. I understand why you want to take it. It’s, uh, it’s a step up. And you’ve earned it.” Reese eases back a little, adjusts the fists he’s making in Fusco’s shirt. “But I want you to stay.”

Fusco holds as still as he can, his back hurting from the weight of Reese leaning on him, sweating a little from the heat radiating off his drunk body. And he waits. And he thinks.

After a while, Reese chuckles, almost to himself. He lets go of Fusco’s shirt, smooths out the wrinkles left by his fingers digging in the fabric. He pats Fusco’s shoulder, a solid, hearty slap. “Congratulations on your promotion, Lionel.”

He turns to leave, but Fusco catches him by his sleeve.

And now he needs a new couch, so that’s rough.
