Had to give Erik our Musical Director a chance to feel the vibration on coffee break from out video shoot today working with @concreteyeg on Songs My Mother Never Sung Me, part of the Sound Off festival. I brought in some balloons to use as a medium to feel sonic vibrations, after an interesting conversation from our talk back session yesterday. It was very cool different size balloons responded differently as did different levels of inflations. Smaller seem to respond better to high frequency and larger less inflation seem to transfer low frequency better. We really made the most of our tech day yesterday. Starting with micing the piano and stage. Wiring up the cast including the Wireless Tactile Monitor System for a deaf performer, it is working great. And I still have time to tweak sand improve. We had great tech run in that 6 hours of tech. Making some last minute changes to the wireless tactile transducer before our tech rehearsal tomorrow. It works best when you couple it with a hard surface like wood or plexiglass. So I’m attaching a small thin plexiglass plate, that will also allow me to attach securely to the performer. We got a head start on our install today for Songs My Mother Never Sung Me, at the Arts Barns for Sound Off festival. We built the two cardioid subwoofer arrays with six Meyer 700HP. Lots of low end in this little venue.
