Our super fun server at #thebachelorfarmer told us to take a peek at their sister bar on-site. Caitlin gave us the following directions: go down to the end of the front of the restaurant, follow the stairs down that lead to a service door w a keypad that won't be locked, pass through that toward the purple door that will also not be locked, open that door & find #MarvelBar. It's the restaurant's wine cellar plus a cozy, dimly lit bar playing low jazz that you can have a conversation over! We had to stay for a bit yo try the #cocktail menu. #SingaporeSling (in honor of #crazyrichasians the movie), a #gimlet & house original #ladykiller Add a charming server & a lovey way to end the night. #Minneapolis #mnisforprinceloversaug2018 #speakeasy #secretbar #ExploreMinnasota #adventuresoftinatamale #latepost (at Marvel Bar) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnXmTkOlyiE/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1b3u0egdkd3d6

25th
My 25th birthday lasted a whole weekend. I will admit I had no problem at all. Saturday Marcus and I slept in and drove to the city. We had a small breakfast at Patisserie 46 in south Mpls. I was overwhelmed with choices and settled on a plain croissant. So like me. We spent the rest of the afternoon walking Lake Calhoun, visiting the Global Market on Lake St, and leaving Savers thrift feeling dirty. We each ate sushi which was UNLIMITED at Kami in the southern suburbs for dinner. I was delighted by the massive amount of seaweed salad I was allowed to devour.
Sunday we met friends at The Bachelor Farmer in the city. I was astonished how delicious all the food was (for brunch) and how adorable the decor was. [ http://thebachelorfarmer.com/ ] After brunch we drove to St Cloud to the quarry to swim and drink beers real fast. Marcus and I had the idea to get a hotel Sunday night so we could actually celebrate. My friend Liz hooked us up with a small suite right in the warehouse district. It was perfect. Drinks and conversation were had at Marvel Bar below The Bachelor Farmer. I fell in love with everything about this swanky place. The servers were kind, the drinks were strong, and the atmosphere was cozy. I was so thankful to everyone who came out to celebrate. Ending the night at 1029 with some coworkers was exactly what I needed. A few songs of karaoke which Marcus avoided (as always), and some friendly strangers.
Monday was my actual birthday. Needless to say I do not feel 25. In fact, I still feel 23. 23 was my age. The age that made sense. A lovely age indeed.
