normally i don’t judge shipping too much unless it’s like, genuinely morally reprehensible, but. MAN do i find it weird that seemingly everyone who saw the movie wants to ship me and snake. he is clearly, like. the grumpy dad of the team. he is so much older than me. and i know a lot of the movie focuses on the two of us but it almost feels like they’re forcing the rest of the team into the background—i loved snake, sure, i’ll admit that freely! but piranha and tarantula and shark weren’t second fiddle to him, they were all equally special and important to me. and i have a very well developed and deep relationship with my girlfriend? diane? AND. and. simplifying both of our arcs down to just “omg they’re in love” is so disrespectful, there was so much more to us and our story. are people really that desperate for mlm to fetishize that they had like blinders on for the rest of the movie do you really need to ship us to care about our relationship? is a deep platonic love not enough for you people? if just feels. gross and weird lol
