Eating and drinking everything I could find after 6 liters of Beer's found the Famous Turkish Doner Kebab a instant addiction for life. Just 4 months ago a Bosnian place in Hamtramck finally bring those memories back into my life. Yes folks the hype is very real. Just 2 year's ago a place in Dearborn had a Turkish guy who had the real deal, ashamed to say the media or foodies just wouldn't support. Balkan House so uniquely designed and delicious with 2 of my all time favorite European sandwiches. Chevapi and Doner Kebab OMG FABULOUS not just about the Meats that bread be pillows of deliciousness. We had both the Meat and Chicken Doner with a 10 pcs Chevapi outstanding balance of flavor. Also a order of Serbian Crepes just think Hungarian Palacsinta or Polish Nalasnike topped with fruits. The first Doner Kebabs was served on March 2, 1971, at Hasir in Berlin. It was called a doner kebab after the Turkish word "dondurmek" which means a rotating roast. The vertical rotisserie was invented in the 19th-century Ottoman Empire, and doner kebab inspired similar dishes such as the Arab shawarma, Greek gyros, and Mexican al pastor.
