Six months after leaving Nashville...
I’ve been cutting hair here in Paducah for six weekends now and things are going much better than I had imagined they would. This past Friday I had a full book and Saturday was pretty darn good as well. I’ll be adding Thursday afternoons at the barbershop one month from today, 11/17/16, I’m excited to be at the shop more.
[{I’ve also been working at an Optometry Office here in Paducah while I’ve been working on getting my license transferred. While the staff and management here are awesome, super genuine people I am growing more and more frustrated with doing work that I thought I left behind three years ago. I keep telling myself, January (when I’ll go full-time at the shop) is not very far away. It is a daily struggle to get out of bed and get here. However, I will continue, because I am blessed to have this job. It’s just hard to remember that sometimes.}]
I’m excited to be at the shop more. I really feel like the way business is picking up my finances will be okay when I go full-time cutting hair again.
Now’s a good spot to bring up Brave...
What can I say about Brave? Brave is such an awesome shop, full of awesome people, and I miss it/them every day. To be honest there were a couple people with whom I got into an occasional argument, yet, I enjoyed every day at that place. I just saw online that they are going up on their prices, not just an individual but the entire shop! That’s awesome! I’m super proud of those guys, we all worked super hard to get that shop booming! I remember some days sitting at the window, reading a Stephen King book, hoping someone I gave a card to would call or someone would just walk in ready for a cut. Now they seem to be so busy that they're raising their prices! I’m super stoked for them and I’m proud to have been a part of that success!
So, you might ask, Why did I leave?
That’s a very good question...
There are a few reasons why my wife and I decided to leave the big city...
This blog is the place I will be sharing those reasons...
