8. how do you mark your spot in a book?

Well okay fine. In theory as long as it's flat and paper-like I'm good. Post-its, paper scraps, receipts, clothing price tags (often), chop stick wrappers and candy wrappers if they're the metal kind and I've already folded it into a thin strip that doesn't have any chocolate crumbs, stickers (in sheets or flakes with the backs still on). In practice I will use the book flap if I'm reading a hardcover and I'm <100 pages from either end or I'll just put the book face down or I'll stick my cell phone in it and then wonder where my cell phone went. I frequently just read ebooks.

18. what’s your clothing colour palette?

I wish it were either pastels with warm neutrals or bright fuckin' colors with cool neutrals but I can't choose so it's a surprising amount of black and also whatever else I think looks cute when things are on sale, which includes a lot of red, which sucks because I don't like red actually and it clashes with my hot pink glasses but I need new glasses anyway.

Orchard & bonfire for the ask meme!

orchard - share one thing that you’d like to happen this autumn.

I want to have a really excellent Halloween in my new city. There’s a lot of movie industry around there so I’m hoping to see some really sweet costumes.

bonfire - describe your dream house.

HOO BOY I HAVE A LOT TO SAY ABOUT THIS okay so I want to have a subterranean house that’s off the grid as much as humanly possible that’s under and surrounded by a food forest. Because it’s in the ground, it would be insulated from drastic temperature changes and would hold cool/warm air better in the summer/winter (respectively). I’m not sure if I would go with a bermed/hobbit hole type structure, or a fully sunken into the ground with periscope windows or something. In any case, I’d want lots of natural light, blonde wood, and lots and lots of art glass.

Today when I came home from work, my roommate had made delicious mac and cheese in the slow cooker! It was a really good end to the week.

I really like when Chanukka starts in early December because it kinda marks the beginning of winter for me, which is my favorite season, but the days are still getting shorter so it feels like winter is just a little bit longer.

What is the grossest thing you’ve eaten since you moved out?

NGL, I am not a fan of the fancy salmon roll we just ordered. Remember when pizza cake was a thing? I never had one of those. One time when I lived in Paris for five minutes, I made rice and left it in the fridge and it turned blue and smelled sweet, but I didn’t eat it. Oh man! So last week, I was at Target with you and there was a new plant protein drink that was very vague about what was in it and if you read the fine print it was made from the finest yellow peas, which pea milk. But that was drinking. I have accidentally ingested celery a few times and that was gross?
