London was a difficult place for anyone to make a go of things. Sure, it was full of opportunity but only if you knew the right people- if you paid the right people, something that most didn’t really even think about. She wasn’t from London- a couple of miles outside of, to be exact, which gave her some significant leverage when it came to standing her own ground. It wasn’t like she had wanted this way of life, it had just happened and well...it wasn’t exactly working out too badly for her now was it? She had everything that she could ever wish for and yet she still wanted more- she wanted as much as she could and she was determined to work for it. She had a lot of things working for her- she was a woman, which in turn meant that she was more often than not underestimated which, ironically, gave her the upper hand. “Is there a reason that you called me in early?” The dark haired woman rose an eyebrow, making her way through the long hallway toward her office, walking alongside the man she trusted with....most business. “I don’t have any meetings today. I was going to London to have some time to myself so this better be good” she remarked simply, shaking her head as she removed her coat and hat, sitting in her chair and pouring herself a drink “well? Are you going to stand there and stumble over your words or are you going to tell me why I’m sat here at this time on a Friday morning?”. She crossed one leg over the other before she reached for her cigarette, taking a long drag from it and watching as the smoke swirled in patterns around the room “ah, Mr Shelby” she greeted, raising an eyebrow and looking toward him “whatever can I help you with?” She remarked, reaching to pour him a glass of whiskey.
