I finished off the second portion of my apple-carrot-lemon juice for breakfast this morning. My body still felt hungry though, so I tried some chia seeds in water this morning. My only thought while chugging it down was that I definitely like chia seeds in my yogurt versus water. Blegh.
The first thing I saw when getting to work was a box of glazed donuts sitting on the counter. . .
. . . I considered the box for a moment as I placed my water jug into the fridge. I considered opening the lid, just to look to see what they looked like, but I resisted. I didn’t look at those donuts the entire day. Score!
I had a business lunch with co-workers scheduled, and rather than going to one of my favorite places (a wonderfully, delicious burger place) as they wanted, I was able to talk them into going to a Mexican place. I ordered water with lemon, chicken fajitas with onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers. I did get corn tortillas, and I did snack on a bit of chips and salsa. But overall, it was much less than I would have normally done. I could easily snack on 1-2 baskets of chips and a thing of salsa by myself! Mexican food is truly my weakness, so, I’m happy that I was able to have my business lunch yet keep my goal in mind of being more mindful of my food choices.
Work got a bit crazy after lunch, and I didn’t make it home until 6pm. Fish had hurt his leg at work (he’s been recovering from a surgery to repair a tear in his ligament the past few months), so he came home early. Thinking to be nice, he took out the last DiGornio’s pizza we had in the freezer and cooked it so I could relax when I got home. I told Fish that he better enjoy all of the “old foods” we still have because as we eat it, it’s getting replaced with better options. My dessert was some of the rainbow shebert I have left in the freezer, while Fish ate the Ben & Jerry’s he had bought me this past weekend as a surprise. Fish has told me he’ll sacrifice his food intake for me. Fish’s metabolism is ridiculous, so I guess between the both of us, he is the better choice to eat it. Surprisingly, I was fine without it, and even the shebert was not as good as I thought it would be.
Summary:
Breakfast juice was great, but not as filling. Chia seeds are not my solution.
I drank at least my 2 liters of water. I left my jug at work, so I wasn’t able to measure it as accurately as yesterday.
Processed foods are slowly making their way out of my pantry and fridge. I wish Fish and I were rich enough to clean out our supplies and start new, but our weekly food budget won’t allow it.
Sidenote: The hotel has still not called me to tell me they have found my Fitbit. I’m desperately hoping they find it and that someone didn’t snatch it.
