The morning after Holi

Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani is more than just a movie, it's a heavy basket of such beautiful moments and emotions filled inside it that even if you carry it for a long time, you will not feel the weight. Somehow, this basket will always make you happy.

Naina, a geeky nerd who always held back her emotions and never let herself get out of her comfort zone explores every little Nainas inside her when she decides to go for the Manali Trip. While Bunny, the venturesome, the big packet of energy, filled with dreams of visiting the corners of the world happens to create a small place inside his heart, with memories of the trip and Naina.

The swift change in Naina's countenance when Avi said, "matlab tu jaaraha hain", her eyes gazing away towards Aditi who is reading out Bunny's letter, while Avi is still uttering something behind is when reality makes a strong comeback, the sudden realization of not being kids anymore hits everyone of them when Aditi takes a moment to process everything and after a pause says, "Bunny, tujhe jaana chahiye" and Naina, who finally let the kid inside her dance to Balam Pichkaari a while ago, had to be mature again. This was when I got to see a beautiful side of our Jhalli Aditi. Avi shattering all his plans of daaru adda with Bunny, one by one, in such few minutes and congratulating him makes my heart smile and love Avi a little more. The fearless side of Bunny is somewhat faded and the Scared side of him is intensified after the moment he just had with his friends, he confides his fears to Naina while he struggles to let the fearless side out. "Lekin mein" "Lekin tum, ....tum udna chahte ho, daudna chaathe ho, aur kya tha woh?"

I cannot help but look at Naina when she gives Bunny a little push into loving his dreams a little more, she reminds him what he is, what he wants and what bliss he seeks. Naina lets him feel his excitement and passion for his dreams. In that moment, I feel like Naina knew what Bunny's priorities more than Bunny himself and maybe that is why she held all her emotions in and didn't let it out.

Then, from "mujhe tumse kuch kehna hain" to "yahi ki subaah hogayi", so many words left unspoken. Bunny went a step ahead to his wishes while Naina a few steps farther from hers.

The wonderful part is, Naina being Naina, appreciates the little moments she had on this trip; Bunny making her laugh to the fullest, the memories she created with Avi, Adi and everyone else but most importantly, she exploring the child inside her and letting her out whenever she wants to.

Where Are We?

Where are we, are we still in there, 1000 years back, Living some sort of life, with no lights and no education to stabilize our life? Where are we, are we still getting so occupied by our individual thoughts, That yet, we are still so engaged in the “so-called” collective approach, Without “her” consent in the matter of talk. Where are we, that he speaks too much, his mistakes turn out to be little slip of words, That “she” also agrees, and makes “her” quite, asking her not to get offended, Saying, “Its Okay! He is the man of the house. He has ALL THE RIGHTS" and, what not! So, where are we, doesn’t she belongs to this place, “Isn’t this My House and My Family- that I can share my words, and place my views as well” she asks... Where are we? 21st century, where they say, “Man and the woman are of the same kind" "Humanity joints us together not the sexuality to phrase the disparity of our existence to the end line.” But still, where are we? He works, he comes, he’s tired, “she” must please his “will and the desire” Now, this age (2000’s) she works, she comes, but she isn’t “Tired”(?)- She has a family to raise, and members to please, demolishing her desire!

Letter to Sirius Black from Harry Potter

Dear Sirius Black, Out of every death in the world of cinema, yours has affected me the most and the saddest part is that there isn't any magic wand made in this world of muggles to lessen my grief. Sometimes I wish Hermione would appear out of nowhere and obliviate your memories residing in my head. It kind of surprises me how you made such an impact during a very short time. When I first saw you, I pretty much had the same idea as Harry but the fear didn't last long as the fabricated layers that had surrounded you came off. Something I really adore about you is how you manage to see the good in everything. You were imprisoned for something you hadn't even done and still, you didn't complain because all that mattered to you was Harry. It equally attracts me to watch you give Harry the love and care he never thought he'd get. It felt like home, from a family. I've always claimed myself to be pretty expressive but whenever it comes it you, it gets incredibly hard for me to put my feelings in words. When Harry and you had a plan of going off somewhere and living there, it wasn't about the place that made Harry happy. It was you; his peace. You and Bellatrix coming from the same family turned out to be totally different from each other and it might be something that has led me to admire you a lot more. Thank you, Sirius, for showing us what courage looks like, for giving the meaning of friendship, and for making us realize that you don't always need a relationship of blood with anyone to be their family. -Just another muggle who loves you

The clouds are parting, look! Unclear, myself!

I stayed in a numb room, no words, no sound, and no whisper. Past few days, the same old thing is flying around my mind, but in a deeper manner, it feels so loud, yet it is still so mystifying. Right now, I feel like I need someone to talk to, but I know I will go out of words, I won’t be able to clear the things I want to say, “Why” if you ask? It’s because, I am here unclear, myself. However, when I say unclear, it doesn’t mean “confusion”. It is simply the exhaustion that I get every time I am unable to clear myself and explore it to my deepest end. Have you ever seen the flower? I am sure, all us have. But, I haven’t, “yes, I haven’t” I realize I have never taken a minute to see the flower, see the colour in its every petal, see its stem and the leaves. I must have just probably taken it to my hand, seen it and then forgot about it- the infinite number of flowers, for an infinite number of times. Hence, I have never seen a flower as I feel right now, I should have! Never mind, right now, the thing is- the rush of words, and the heartbeat of mine is in so contrast. My mind knows exactly what it wants to take out of me, however, my mind also knows the triggers and the barriers not to break myself into. I feel like I am in a battlefield ever again, for something that shouldn’t bother me as much as it is currently doing- bothering me so much that it has somewhat, about to, conquer my brain. Consequently, my imagination power is currently in a pause, as I am trying to link the dots of real life, I feel like I’m all lost in a maze. And for me, not being able to balance these two things (imagination and the reality) is the frustration as same as to carry myself to death.

An Open Letter to Jolene

To Jolene from The Queen’s Gambit

When I first saw you I thought you were one of those girls our parent’s ask us to stay away from. However, as I saw you become Beth’s greatest companion throughout her stay at Methuen, I began admiring you every day but then you disappeared as soon as she left the orphanage.

I couldn’t stop thinking about you even when Beth was busy going places with her mother and earning so much love from people. I always wondered where were you at, were you still there in the big hall of Methuen, smoking a cigarette, watching the newbies enter and reminiscing your days with Beth? I wish Netflix would have given a little insight into what was going on in your life.

When the intoxicated, weak and drowsy Beth opened the door, I filled my heart with joy once again. Yes, I admit I was missing your voice like hell. You showed up when she was at her worst and loaned her the money you had been saving up for law school. Well, it looks like it wasn’t just Mr Shaibel who went through every piece that has Beth on it. I think all she really needed was a friend, to take her hand and get her out of that world.

You’re probably the sweetest friend alive in the universe, Jolene and I know it sounds a little cliche but I want you to understand that even though Beth is bad at expressing her feelings unlike me, I know she loves you a lot and insanely grateful for what you’ve done. I’m sure she has paid you back and you’re on your way to law school. Trust me, you’re going to make a great lawyer.

By the way, there’s something I’ve been wanting to ask, how exactly did you steal the pills that day?
