It’s been a hot minute. I sincerely apologize for that. I have commit issues when it comes to creative projects lmao. Anyway, the goal is still the same: to share the words of Black and Brown writers. Our stories are important and deserve to heard and nurtured properly. That being said, submit your words? Will I ever be able to look in the mirror and say I love you?

Without the sweet words that look like someday but sound like never

I wonder.

Who am I to tell her that her dreams are truly make-believe

I want so desperately to be practical.

I know this is a little overdue but I figured y’all should know a little bit about ya admin.

Hi! I’m Massiah. I’m 18 and I live in Virginia. I am also physically disabled and a lesbian. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. The first story I can recall writing was about a leprechaun lol. Anyway, enough about me. If you want to know more, hit me up on my personal blog @massiahchantel.

Writing is so important. It’s helped me get through a lot in my life and I genuinely do not know where I would be without it. I know it sounds cliché, but for me, it’s as essential as oxygen. I believe that all of us have stories we need to tell and that we don’t hear enough of the ones by and or about queer Black and Brown bodies. That’s exactly why I created this blog, so that we now have a space to share our stories and such and be heard.

That being said, please submit your work! I want to read it, workshop it, whatever you allow me to do—us to do. I accept and will post ALL kinds of writing. I’d say that I feel this more on the level of gender expression (i.e. clothes and presenting as a somewhat masculine female) rather than my actual sex, but I know that this is common feeling among queer folk, no matter how you represent.
