Born as the descendant of a mining family who’d lived in Beckley for generations, and who continued to work in the mining business anywhere possible after the town was abandoned, before the onset of the apocalypse. During the apocalypse, the family resettled in Burnington.
He comes from a troubled household. His father was an alcoholic, often times abusive to Colt. His mother was distant at best and neglectful at worst.
Colt is the oldest of three, and was largely left to care for his younger brothers when his mother ran out on their family when Colt was thirteen. He has varying relationships with his younger brothers (three and ten years younger, respectively), with the middle one having left the family home at age 17, leaving his and Colt’s relationship strained. Colt still lives together with his younger brother on their family land at the edges of Burnington.
Colt’s father passed away when Colt was thirty-five, having “wandered” off into the Devil’s Elbow. Nobody went looking for him due to his reputation.
Colt struggles to stay employed at any one spot. He’s changed profession multiple times, often being fired for one transgression or another. He makes most of his income from selling black market wares.
Colt has several scars, including a dent from a shotgun blast a long line on his left side from a knife, a round burn on his thigh, and various smaller scars littered all over his body.
He has a rather high pain tolerance.
Colt struggles with reading/writing. This is something he hides about himself, and he will get defensive if it's noted.
