Brothers With No Game Returns For A Second Series
Click picture for full episode^ If you're not familiar with Brit web series Brothers With No Game (BWNG), you must have been living under a rock or something.
Thanks to an almost cult following generated by their epic blog offerings, the web series started last year and follows the trials and tribulations in life and love of Theo, Dorian, Marcus and Junior - four beauts "brothers with no game".
In season 1, we're introduced to the brothers and their various life situations - work, dating, friendships - relatable for a lot of 25 and overs, as well as the women who serve as consistent figures in their lives - Lisa, Simone and later Remy. As the episodes progressed so did the story lines, to the point where you'd be literally foaming at the mouth anticipating the next installment with earnest - the perfect scenario for any web or tv series producer. You had:
Theo - cute as hell, but blantantly wotless with women. Dorian dubs him the "Heskey" of the group in the first episode after he inadvertently drops his date to a link (in south London nonetheless). Ultimate sideman movements. Dorian - confident, has a certain bravado about him and has banter for days but lacks the ability to secure or close deals when it comes to women as he is unable to admit that he's been into his good friend - the beautiful Lisa - since they were children. Marcus - suave, handsome, gassed over his internship at a fashion magazine - has to lie to pick up women to consolidate his lack of gainful employment. Junior - poorting, sucker for love, pining over his ex-girlfriend who has moved to the US without him. He is seemingly unable to get over this to the point that he would spend whole dates with other women talking about her.
Their lack of game (as illustrated) permeates through their everyday lives producing often funny and always poor consequences.
Things do begin to look up for the brothers part way through series 1. Junior meets the feisty Remy who, after a disastrous first date where Junior literally embodies every aspect of a wasteman, eventually warms to him and proves to be a positive impact on his life. Theo meets Charlottte at a cashpoint and finally gets it right and Dorian and Lisa finally admit their feelings for each other. Though a massive spanner is thrown in the works when Vanessa, Juniors overseas ex-girl reappears with a ticket for him to go back to America with her - just as he and Remy are about to secure the ting.
And so to series 2. Gosh damn we waited for it but my goodness it was worth it. We rejoin the brothers a month after the end of the first series. After being out of work for a long time, Junior has taken the decision to move back in with his mum so he can reassess and rebuild his life. Dorian and Junior are soon joined by Marcus who is supposedly there to help move boxes but scarpers as soon as food beckons from inside the house. We find out that Theo is in Jamaica and we're soon brought right up to speed with the latest on the brothers' lurve connections as well as "the Par of the R" (you'll have to watch to find out more).
Marcus confronted Nia about her age and his suspicions about her teenagehood are confirmed. Dorian tells Lisa that they should remains friends, a highly irritating turn of events because all you're willing him to do is man up and take control. Theo stumbles upon another man at Charlotte's place and then there's Junior and his love triangle. We see Junior visit Vanessa (who is dressed in nothing but a shirt - this chick made her intentions clear) and with baited breath, wait for the news he has to give her. Much to my personal relief (I'm #teamremy alllll the way) he hands her back her ticket to New York and tells her that he wants to stay her - much to her devastation. Now, back in series 1, it's revealed that the reason the pair split when she went to America is in part due to Junior's bishar*eness - he bottled going with her so she isn't the witch she was first painted as but girls are bloody devious and manipulative at times and Vanessa is no different. Just as Junior goes to leave (to go to Remy) Vanessa appears butt a$$ nekkid in a last ditch attempt to win her man's affections and that, is where it ends...
*Siiiiighhh* Junior Junior Junior...please do the right thing. Think with the brain north of south pleeeeaaaaseeee! Alas, we will have to wait until next Monday evening for the outcome but fingers crossed until then! #teamremy #teamnodelilah
Still s/o to the BWNG team - big, big things are in store for these guys. In the meantime, you can catch up with the complete first series here.
Peace & lurve
