☂ for a kiss in the rain.
“I thought Robb Storm was the man, but here we are…stuck in the middle of fucking Monaco—You do know Sybella and Bash are going to freaking kill us!”
The witch stares incredulously as he listens to the she-wolf go off into a tangent and blaming him for the cause of this. For starters, they were on vacation in Monaco for some high profile royalty event held for the Grimaldi twins and the two of them were chosen as their guests. The two had the option of getting there on their own or having a driver, but Robb suggested that they’d explore a bit and then head over there by themselves. Unfortunately, as they were finished exploring, their car broke down causing them to be stranded in the middle of no where.
Robb clears his throat, “If you must know, you agreed on my suggestion—so technically we’re both at fault.” Thais looks over at him and glares, before removing her seat belt and stepping out of the car. It was ridiculous seeing as she was in a dress and heels, while he was in a tailored suit, in the middle of no where. She took her phone out of her clutch and began dialling Sebastian’s number. Once he answers, Thais explains their situation, “…Alors on a besoin de l’aide…Nous sommes désolés!…Oui…Oui, je sais…D’accord, bonne chance!” After she ends the call, she turns to Robb who was still in the car and waves him over to come out. Once he did, she explains the situation, “Well we’re late and so we won’t make it in time for the ceremony…Bash said we should try to make it for the dinner instead and so he sent his driver out to get us.” She points at the car and asks, “Why can’t you use your magic and fix this shit?” Robb rubs his temples and replies in a dry tone, “If I could then I would have done it in the first place Thais.” Letting out a sigh of defeat, Thais looks over at him and says, “Yeah you’re right, sorry. I feel like this is my fault cause I’m some sort of cursed werewolf just somehow getting herself and others into such unfortunate situations.”
Robb casts his gaze downwards knowing how Thais has been through a lot. He shook his head as he gave her an encouraging smile, “Hey, we’re on vacation…Let’s not kill the mood shall we? It’s none of our faults then, let’s just say it wasn’t meant to be and that the car was at fault.” The werewolf takes in his reply and nods as a playful smile graced her lips, pointing at the trunk of the car. “Picnic?” she suggests. They had a basket filled with food and a red and white checkered blanket as they were going to have a picnic within the free time that they had. Unfortunately, they lost track and ended up ditching the picnic idea. But now that they’re stranded, they might as well make their time useful.
The two of them worked together by laying the blanket out on the hood of the car and placing their meals all over it. They had some fruits and veggies, wine, sandwiches and some cake to eat as they casually sat on the hood, leaning on the glass windshield. “Now this is a great idea,” Robb says after taking a bite out of his sandwich. Thais looks over and smirks, “Teamwork played a role in this whole fiasco. To be honest, I’m kind of glad we didn’t make it to the ceremony—it would have been boring in my opinion. I mean if I can’t sit through a long ass speech that Pennifold conducts, then what makes you think I can do the same with a bunch of royals?” A laugh escapes the witch’s mouth as he nods slightly, “I can’t argue with that Alves, but we’re suppose to be supportive remember? Although, secretly…I do too. I’ve been to many of them and you don’t know how brutal it can be to fake it in order to make it.”
Thais pouts knowing that he was absolutely right. They were their guests after all and the least they could do is be there for them. Noticing her look, Robb sets his sandwich down and suddenly thought of an idea. Hopping off the hood of the car, he went inside of it to turn on the stereo on full blast as an upbeat song started to play. Thais raises a brow, questioning what this is all about and Robb went towards her, extending his hand out for her to take. “If we can’t be there, we might as well do our own royal ‘party’. I mean, we have the food, the drinks, especially this fucking wardrobe—we might as well dance while we’re at it.” She gladly accepts it after hearing his explanation and leads her to the front of the car. “I love it, but at the same time we look completely ridiculous y’know?” The witch lets out a low chuckle, “Oh God, tell me about it! But this is the best way to kill time—by having fun!” He spins her around and as they danced happily, with different genres of music being played one after another in the background.
The mood slowly changes once a slow song began to play. Thais bit her lip, “We can sit this one out if you want?” Robb raises a brow as he shakes his head, “Now where’s the fun in that Thais? Don’t tell me you don’t do slow dances?” She narrows her eyes as a scoff escapes her lips, “Excuse you jack ass I can slow dance just fine. I just wasn’t sure if you’re up for it,” A grin escapes the man’s lips as he brings her closer to him, “As long as you don’t claw my face out, I promise you—you won’t regret this.” She rolls her eyes, “I’ll be the judge of that.”
While they danced in peaceful silence, Thais leans closer as they sway gracefully to the music. However, the clouds started looming in from above and her senses kicked in as soon as she felt a low rumble. She breaks the silence as she mutters, “The mother fucking weather network lied to us…” Robb doesn’t remove his hand away from her waist as he shrugs, “Ever danced in the rain before?” The she-wolf raises a brow and shook her head in reply, “No…But I hate getting we—” And suddenly the thought kicked in, “Robb Fucking Storm, you better let go of me right now or so help me God I will cl—”
It was too late, as a flash of lightening seized through the sky and droplets of rain began to fall onto them. The sound of thunder wasn’t overwhelming as they could still hear the music blending well with the rain and so this gave Robb the opportunity to continue their dance—even if they were soaking wet. “Like I said before Alves, lighten up! We’re on vacation and we’re supposed to have fun! Besides, I bet you haven’t done this before. Slow dancing with yours truly, the most charming witch you’ve ever known! As a plus, we’re doing this in the rain….Like cross that off your bucket list!” He twirls her around as the she-wolf gave in with a laugh and as he brought her close, Thais looks up and suddenly snakes her arms around his neck, pressing her lips against his.
It was a spur of the moment kind of thing, that it just felt right to do so. But it was also her way of saying thanks as he definitely knew how to make a disastrous situation into a better one. As soon as their lips part, Robb tilts his head to the side and gave her a questioning look. He was about to ask why she did it, but Thais immediately places a finger on his lips and decides to beat him to it. “You’re still the man and you can totally cross the whole kissing in the rain thing with the ever so lovely Thais Alves off your bucket list yeah?”
