9. Does magic play a role in your world? How important is it and under what circumstances is it used?

Magic is everywhere in Fenrulen, as the physical core of the planet is magic itself, so magic there is far superior and stronger than what it is on the surface.

As magic is everything, it's highly coveted and something most people want to have some basic knowledge of, but because of laws put in place by the first queen of the country, magic has to be taught through certain branches to be considered legal and because of that being expensive as hell, a lot of stuff is considered illegal and being an illegal magic user isn't something one just casually announces to the world. It's very much something practised in the dark.

While it's something that can be honed by individuals, its something that's also actively used as a source of energy ( in the same way mundanes of the surface world using electricity, but its also expensive as hell to constantly use, so people who can afford to use it for that are extremely selective in how they do so.

57. Which skills are considered the most important to have?

Canvas is a very self-sustaining place that also likes to deal with everything in their own way without the help of other towns if it can be helped, so as long as there are people with the skills to garden to grow fruits and vegetables to supply to the store, people trained in the labouring skills ( carpenters, electricians, mechanics, plumbers, etc. ), everything is good and golden.

There's a big emphasis on helping each other out here, after all and these sorts of skills are learned really young so individuals can figure out just which ones they prefer, if not expected to follow the footsteps of other family members.

60. Are there any career paths are considered more valuable than others? Why?

In Canvas, working for the church is the goal and since this is a small town with only one physical church, competition is something fierce amongst those who actively see that in their future.

But in saying that, it's also a town that likes to keep to itself so as long as there are always teachers to teach and labourers to keep the town up to perfect scratch, everyone is content.

Every one is more or less treated equally at face value because everyone contributes in their own ways, but behind closed doors people tend to feel that they're better than each other for just how that is.

7. Which meals or foods are considered classics or universally loved?

Canvas is a very boring place cuisine-wise. Like we're talking the white people meat and three veg being a main meal across the entire population. But if it were to be known for anything, it would be the emphasis on the various home-baked goods. Each family makes their things just a little different and while no one would actively mention it, there's no denying that there's a raging competition between those who make said goods when it comes to town events and the like.

2. What are the most undervalued jobs in your world? Who works them?

Canvas is a tiny ass town, so that's not really an issue here. Everyone pulls their weight in their own way here and it ensures that the town runs like a well-oiled machine. When that machine shows flaws, its usually corrected by a visit from Sebastian's father, and things seemingly get fixed almost instantly as if no flaws were ever there.

It ties back to the perfect image that Canvas is built on thing.

The ringing sound in his ears had hardly dulled. Kellan was more than aware that it had been perhaps a little too long since he had fed, but his own well-being was on the back burner for the time being. Far too much was up in the air. Attention was demanded elsewhere, a million other elsewheres. For all that Bernard had taken from him, there were numerous things that had been left. One of the biggest was a long list of connections and relationships that had long been cultivated for moments like this. When things hit the fan and there was a scramble to fix it.

Kellan motioned the other over as he continued the conversation on the phone. It was the best lead that they had gotten so far.

"No, no. I got it." The grumbling of the words signaled a dwindling patience that he was having a harder and harder time concealing. "Yeah, fine. I'll follow up with you tomorrow." The altered vampire barely withheld a heavy sigh before the phone was put down. It took a second, Kellan taking a slow breath and rubbing his eyes before he was able to properly rely the information that had been offered up. Red rimmed irises glanced upward towards the other and he gave a tired sigh.

"It sounds like a rogue sect of vampires. Supposedly, they are just north of the city in one of the abandoned warehouses. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get a proper set of numbers. It could be just a small handful or it could be an entire warehouse full. From the sounds of it, I would guess somewhere in between ten and fifteen from the sounds of things but, I could be entirely wrong."

"Yup. Not ideal." Colt agreed, bringing down the hammer he repurposed for a makeshift weapon onto the skull of another shambling abomination. Dark pit? Check. Filled with writhing, vicious eldritch beings? Check. Definitely a trap.

"We need a way out." he grunted, swinging the sledgehammer again, clipping the snapping jaws of a lunging beast, sending it clattering back into the shadows.
