An open letter

To the two homeless gentlemen that came into my work today. I did not judge your torn clothes or the fact that you appeared unbathed. I was honest and gentle in telling you we do not have a public restroom or cups for you to fill with water. I was patient when repeating that I don't carry cash and that I can't leave my place of work to take you to buy clothes with my debit card (you insisted must be filled with an infinite amount of money.) I pointed you in the direction of a few places that are hiring, when asked if we were. I didn't even become short with you when you went on your ramble about how our president has allowed such disgusting things to happen. I didn't stoop when you began to bash the gay and trans community (that said president has so "irresponsibly" backed and supported) I didn't correct you when you claimed that same sex love is not true love or that it's completely not ok that a woman "who is a she-male" should be allowed to be called a woman or to even try to look like one. I didn't even get worked up when you claimed that people should not mix races because then the blood becomes unclean. I continued on with my job and let you ramble, vent, and unknowingly condemn me, my family, and many of my friends In all of this, I was still calm and helpful in informing you of the places that could help you. I did not interject and inform you that, while I am a white woman my spouse is black and trans (FTM)and, up until a few years ago, we were a homosexual couple (still this to those who don't know about their transition), or that my daughter is a blended mix of Mexican, Indian and all things white (Scottish, Irish, and German). I am deeply in love with my spouse and we've been together for almost 11yrs, legally married for 3. According to you this "love" stems from porn and the idea that sex is most important, no matter where it comes from. My daughter is an amazing, loving, giving human being who strives to make sure every living thing is well taken care of. I just continued being me. I am a loving person and, if I have spare change/cash, I am always more than willing to help someone. I did my very best and did not give too much information of who I am because 1. It's none of your business and 2. I felt it would be hitting you while you were down by showing you that all the things you're judging and condemning are tied in one little package and that little package is someone you're asking for help. I cannot fix your ignorance or your willingness to openly speak on said ignorance. I can only be happy in myself and with my life and be thankful that the people who are in my life are supportive and caring. I truly hope someone was able to help you today and that, someday, you can open your mind to see the world around you and all the wonderful people are not just cis/straight, single raced human beings. I once had a customer say “Excuse me, I gotta go toot.”

At the time I didn’t know what toot was slang for and I just said, “ok? are you gonna leave?”

she said, “no no.” Stands up, walks away three steps and rips a massive fart, walks back and sits down.

I literally had to snap my mouth shut for fear of being gassed, and to be honest i’m not sure what happened after that fiasco except that now I know what toots are

Who put that door there!

Yeah so today is a Thursday and I dont usually work Thursdays so imagine my shock when I ask my friend what time im working the weekend for her to tall me,  'Sam you're in at 5 BTW can you come in at 3' FUUUUUUUUUUCK. I end up getting a lift into work and its a nice day today meaning people will be eating outside fucking fabulous, after dragging a high chair out into the garden and carrying a stupid amount of glasses back inside i decided to make an executive decision and put the door on latch so i dont need to drop everything just to open it. I quickly pop to the kitchen to drop off some plates and go to head back outside when. WACK! oh Mr door I do believe i just shut you -.- my co-worker found it hilarious. I just fucking faceplanted a door in front of customers at the same time I tried scoping out the area for whoever took it off latch I spot her, late middle aged woman imitating shivering movements (It was like 15 degrees). Well this had just started another war, and when i say war I reopened the door to try and freeze the bitch and she closed it again. Like fuck to i have time to keep doing this so I just glared when I walked past. Note: Me and my boss ended up having a condiment fight, im not sure if it was before or after but i ended up spraying him with cleaning chemicals to which he yelps ' I HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN' he then also got scared by  a local who he tried to karate kick. Note V 2.0: Just after I got into work (In a bad mood might i add) I served a customer who when asked how she would like her tea, replied  'In a cup' she thought she was hilarious, not going to lie I just wanted to kick her in the fanny.
