The Dark Circle by Linda Grant was an emotionally fulfilling read for me. It made me feel grateful for the medical advancements we have today as well as ashamed about how much we take for granted. - - Set in post- war period in a sanatorium for TB patients, the blurb might mislead you into thinking it is a grim, dull book. But no! Grant is witty in serious situations and her minute observations about life and the scars that remain deserve applause. - - I loved the book and it made me cry. For a rather lengthy review (that took away a large part of my Saturday morning) which isn't lengthy enough to convey all my emotions, check link in bio. #thebooksatchelreviews 4.5/5⭐️ - - PS: I was overwhelmed by Grant tweeting about my review (did a snapshot in my Stories). Little things as these mean so much to a blogger. If you take a look at the review, let me know what you think as well😍😍 . . Have you read the book? Or have you heard stories about the sad situation during the TB outbreak? . . . #books #booksandcandle #eveningslikethese #biscuits #coffeelife #coffeeaddict #coffee #thedarkcircle #lindagrant
