Maggie let her gaze fixate on the thick clouds above, trailing the flakes that floated silently down to earth around her and the Walrider who, even after three months, refused to set her down for more than a few minutes at a time; she was honestly surprised that the creature had so readily agreed to take her out in the snow at all - she was still recovering from her injuries, and…well…snow wasn’t exactly warm, and would go against Miles orders to keep her someplace warm and safe.
She supposed the Walrider’s thought process was along the lines of that they were warm, they would be holding her, therefore she too would be warm, ergo - going in the snow was okay, not that it really mattered; Walrider had coddled her request, which she was silently grateful for - snow had always brought her such a sense of calm, and comfort, and even if she didn’t like admitting it…sharing the peaceful scenery with someone else was nice.
The two were in the middle of the drifts, watching the snow flurry around them as the wind blew the flakes around in lazy circles before they settled on the rapidly deepening snow, the filtered sunlight through the clouds dancing off icicles that hung from the branches of the leafless trees and glittering off the snow; the landscape, given the horrors of the building just beyond had and continued to contain, all circumstances aside…was actually quite beautiful, with only the sound of an occasional gentle wind whistling through the air breaking the silent stillness.
Maggie watched her breath form and dance away on the breeze, shifting herself slightly so she was further curled up against the supposed god or demon, absorbing more of their warmth, wondering if the Walrider was cold or oblivious to temperature changes; she didn’t have long to think about it though before Miles frustrated voice carried over to them on the wind, yelling at them to come inside before she became ill, and she loosed a quiet sigh as the creature turned back towards the asylum, floating over the snow until they were safely back inside.
