Taking it seriously or not. I hope the phone call with your grandma is helpful rather than hurtful. I’ve been surprised to find in recent years my grandma and aunts for some reason seem more tolerant about a lot of stuff than my mom and idk why that is

Talking to my grandmother helped in some ways. I mean, it was great to just talk to her, because we can talk for hours, and it explained some of why my dad reacted like he did, but on the other hand, she told me that he reacted that way because...he has a tumor. And doesn’t yet know if it is malignant or not. He’s waiting to find out before he tells us; she wouldn’t have said anything if he hadn’t freaked out at me. The things my dad said still hurt, and I’m more worried about him not taking this all seriously if he could potentially have cancer or something, but if he’s  this scared then of course he’s upset at not getting to see me on Father’s Day. He’s probably worried that this could be his last father’s day or something. 

And so now i don’t know what my emotions are doing. It hasn’t sunk in, like my brain is so full of ‘the world is ending’ that something else earth shattering can’t quite make it in. And so my brain is just like ‘we’re gonna assume that it’s gonna be fine and not think about it’.

So. Yeah. But also my dad is immunocompromised and should NOT be going out to eat anyway.

If you haven’t read Noragami since the hiatus, this be spoilers underneath

The new Nora is sweet and pure and all, but I didn’t believe that she was being sincere for the longest time because it’s inconsistent with how she’s been portrayed thus far! She’s used the innocent act so many times. ;-; And from a writer’s perspective, this characterization seems inconsistent. It would have made more sense for her to have flat out refused Yukine’s help when he found her abandoned and kept lashing out at him until she felt like she could trust him. The character development for Yukine was SO GOOD and convincing, but Nora’s on the other hand was too abrupt.

Anyways at least Yukine has a friend.

twitter is an unorganized hell hole at least this is a somewhat organized hell hole that you can use to type paragraphs cuz even with the extended character count twitter still does not provide enough for me

heyooo so I just read your SAO thing after seeing your other ask.

I had a big handful of problems with the original SAO too BUT I went to go see the new SAO movie anyway and..... IT WAS SO GOOD. like so much better than expected!

The characters are written so much better and the pace of the story is much slower. The entire movie covers like 2 episodes of the anime, if that. Maybe even more like 1 and a half. And!!! It's from Asuna's point of view, which is so much more relatable than Kirito.

Anyway obviously it's fine to not like things but I'm so glad I gave the movie a chance despite my issues with the original because I really loved it. And I've basically been telling everyone "if you liked SAO's concept but hated a lot of things about it this rewrite is for you~"

Are you talking about Progressive? I haven't seen it, but I have read the books, and sorry to say it is all just a mask :(((( Eventually it just becomes shitty old SAO again and I realized I liked it simply bc it took the main story beats of Aincrad and like. Didn't speedrun them in the way I know and hate by heart. There is no hope for SAO
