You found me at the side of the road
Starving
For affection, warmth, and love.
You took me into your home
Collared
Claiming me as yours, only yours.
You presented me to your friends
Leashed
Held tight and muzzled, scared.
They approached with curiosity
Growling
I barked and snapped at their hands.
You scolded me, called me a bad dog
Punished
I’m left out in the cold for the night.
Morning comes and you take me on a ride
Happy
Maybe you aren’t as mad as I thought.
You stop at the side of the road
Abandoned
You remove my collar, and let me go.
