ignore if this is unhelpful, but have you checked your iron, b12, vitamin d levels? i thought i was in a depressive slump for a good chunk of the past spring and when i went to the doctor for an unrelated issue they ran blood stuff and i found out my iron was- extremely low.

I can’t remember how recently those specific things have been checked, but I did have a blood test really recently and pretty much everything was normal aside from mildly elevated globulin levels (I’m supposed to see my doctor soon to keep up my prescriptions, so I’ll mention it then). so I don’t think that’s it, it’s just...I don’t know. I never get to bed early enough, and when I get to sleep in on weekends I still don’t necessarily sleep well, just longer. I suppose if I had some kind of intense workout every day, that might take care of the problem, but that is...not something I actually want to do. >_<

I recall a mention that you had not seen Rogue One, but there's some nifty concept art from it for Vader under the suit that could *easily* fit DAV.

Hmm. Well, I gotta be honest, in spite of Disney, I actually still think that the Vader suit doesn’t come fully off. It was built into and around him, and I got the impression from the original movies that only the mask and helmet, and probably part of the armor, are really removable. But I don’t think his limbs are removable outside of a surgical setting, and the life support apparatus is a constant, too.

That said, I don’t think I’ve written anything in DAV that actually specifies that, and I’m not planning to, so if you prefer Rogue One’s interpretation, feel free to imagine DAV that way too. :)

okay so there’s this one area of the mall that’s like six stories high but most of it’s office space, and the only restrooms are on the second floor that does have a few shops but almost no foot traffic instead of, you know, down on the first floor where 99% of the shops are. so after I used the restroom, I noticed a nearby stairwell door that said it went to ground level and it was for customer use, and I figured I’d use it instead of walking back 50 feet or whatever to the escalator. now, the sign on the door also said it was closed to customer use on weekends, but I tried the handle anyway and when it opened, I just figured okay, they’re not that serious about keeping it locked on weekends, cool. 

went down to the ground floor, found a door that led directly outside, tried it, seemed locked. went back up to the second floor where I’d come in: super locked. checked the stairwell doors on all the other office levels just in case; also super locked. like I said, it probably wouldn’t have been a huge deal even if no one had happened along and heard me knocking, because I had a strong cell signal and could have looked up the mall office or security to call them and ask to be let out, but like...why the fuck would you have any kind of setup where customers can get in but can’t get out, “closed to customers on weekends” should mean customers can’t get in not “ha ha you can come in but you can’t come out!” like seriously what the fuck 

like, yeah, I doubt it was deliberately set up that way? but it’s still a big fucking oversight on the part of...whoever decided to put the stairwell on a schedule

luckily for me, this stairwell was much bigger and cleaner, more well lit, and far less creepy than anything Heather encounters even before her mall goes to hell. but also I won’t lie, my first thought was basically “well, there are four more floors, if these two are locked then at least one of them has to be unlocked so I can progress” before I remembered, you know, I live in real life and not a video game

my dash has been drowning in sponsored ads for CPAP masks the last week or so and every time i see one it makes me think of DAV and anakin finally getting a fancy new respirator

Oh wow, but what if Anakin gets those as his version of Imperial spam e-mail?

Like, Piett and all the other officers get those “natural male enhancement” space e-mails. (And there was that time Admiral Ozzel actually sent off for one of the products and, well...nobody talks about it really, but let’s just say there’s a very pointed story behind “he’s as clumsy as he is stupid.”)

But not Darth Vader. Darth Vader gets space spam about respirators and the latest developments in prosthetics.

He’s fairly sure Palpatine actually added him to some of the mailing lists because that’s exactly the kind of petty shit Palps would pull. Mostly Anakin just deletes the messages, but sometimes when he’s feeling particularly bleakly humorous, he likes to read through them. 99% are scams and the 1% that aren’t are products he knows he could design better.

But hey, it gives him something to think about. He’s got a lot of different schematics worked out (only in his head, though - can’t risk someone finding physical evidence).

And sometimes he and Kadee turn it into a game. Who can read the advertisements in the most ridiculous way possible? Kadee usually wins, which Anakin thinks is patently unfair, since she doesn’t even have an inflected voice. But he can’t argue with her results.

definitely, and I made a lot of LJ posts over many years, so manually deleting or locking them would take BASICALLY FOREVER, just aside from being a deep dive into my past depression, anxiety, school stress, and shitty beliefs that I could really do without

this is true! arguably, exercise is also a good way of dealing with tension and stress (I mean it is, I do know this, and the McElroy podcasts I listen to while working out are definintely good for my stress levels) so if it was just that, I probably would’ve made myself go, buuuuut my period started yesterday and my body’s been accordingly grumpy so I was just really not feeling it. and then I can’t go tomorrow or Friday, so...oh well, maybe this weekend.
