When I see anecdotes of WE that more on lean to the negative side like how Wallis was always mean to David, of course I'd take it with a grain of salt or refuse to believe at all. But what stings more is that its the ones that are always scattered in the internet rather than the nice ones which you'd only find in books that are fair to WE and so it further pushes the narrative that their relationship sucked ass that fuels all those mean haters out there. Here is the anecdote I'm talking about btw.
In their later years Edward's golfing partner Sandy Bertrand recalled how the Duchess often said: "Sandy, you are so kind to play golf with my old man - it must be so boring for you." When the hapless Duke interjected: "Darling, I don't think he's bored," she would snap something like "Of course he is". When she was hard on him, "he seemed to feel that it showed that she cared".
eughhh i hate that the new upcoming joan collins film is titled "My Duchess" so its hinting blum's obsession with Wallis, i would have much rather the title "The Bitter End" (which was used in the first teaser images)
BELIEVE me when i say that i am SCARED to watch that film but there's this subconscious feeling that i have to because i will be one of the only few people who'd actually sympathize with wallis, i can already see those hate comments incoming saying she deserved it ;-; Maitre Blum, you disgust me.
Making this post at 1:55 AM to remind me in the morning of my sudden urge now to make a tiktok account dedicated to WE (creating a tiktok account now is a bit of a work since im literally hiding under a blanket to not get caught still using my phone at this hour)
and given that wallis didn't even know her letters (even the ones for aunt b) would get published, she gave them to her secretary to be burned
planning to create more images like these so ill get to post them on pinterest too
