Tyranny of Faces
Greetings. This will be another of those long posts that will probably get zero reblogs and/or zeros notes, but I still like discussing this in a public manner so here goes.... I haven't put out any music in a little while now. I dig a couple short scores for a friend, and have written a few songs here and there. Well, after a little deliberation, I decided to release some new material in cd format. (Yes I know it is practically a dead format these days, but I feel what I am trying to convey needs a proper tangible release). This record has been titled "Tyranny of Faces". It is a bit of a departure for me, sonically and artistically. Over the years I have made a few tracks that weren't drone/ambience, still electronic and haunting just more melodic and rhythmic. I decided to compile a few odd and ends tracks together with the material I'm doing now to create this cd. I'm essentially aiming to do what Coil did with their "Unnatural History" releases, compiling the best songs together. Since I typically just offer my music online for free, I feel I should offer the most bang for your buck. So, im including the two short film scores I did on the disc. This way, the cd will contain three EPs worth of material for the price of one. The album is almost completely done. For the first time I've been working with an outside graphic artist on the packaging . It refreshing to focus solely on the music while someone else handles the artwork. Plus this record will sound different than my previous work, so I felt a different art style than my own would be more appropriate. Keep an eye out on this blog for more information forthcoming.
