Nublo had been missing for almost two days now. Not the most unusual amount of time, but he hadn't mentioned it ahead of time.
Nublo, himself, he didn't know where he was either. He just knew the inhibitor collar was too tight, and he dreadful wished Nes would wake up. He knew it was bright. Someone knew his weaknesses.
He tried to put on a brave face, but after the second day, he started shouting for Voss. For Hemlock. For Nes. Anyone. Even if they couldn't hear him, at least he could say he tried.

Voss was worried. Voss had been worried. Sue him, maybe he's paranoid, but even an hour without a response to his 'I love you' text had sent him spiraling. He'd looked everywhere, called off of work just so he could rip the city apart in search of his partner. He was so worried he'd turned his ears into foxy ones while in public. They were hidden under a hood yes, but still anyone who looked too close would see them. He doesn't care. He needs the enhanced hearing. He needs to find Nublo. He's barely slept, only doing so to avoid passing out.
He's searching through the warehouse district, (for the fourth time), nose twitching, when he hears it. Hears them. Calling his name in a volume he's sure his human ears wouldn't have picked up on. He follows the noise. "NUBLO?"
