(If you said you didn't want it reposted then yeah it isn't good that they did. If you didn't say anything about it and since they sourced should be all good)
It’s not all good. I don’t want my art reposted, it’s mine and I would like people to know that. I want credit for the hard work I do.
And even if I didn’t out right say ‘Don’t repost my art’, which my blog says right in the description ‘please DO NOT repost my art without permission’, people shouldn’t just assume an artist is okay with their art being taken without their consent and posted elsewhere on the internet. Simply not saying ‘do not repost’ is not permission to repost. No one should ever repost without permission, ever. Doesn’t matter if the blog or the post doesn’t say right on it, it just shouldn’t be done. There’s a little thing called common courtesy and artists would like to be asked if their art can be posted by someone else.
In most cases it’s just going to be no.
In my case it would have been a no.
Even if I am credited I am still pissed they took my art without asking and it’s not like they can find me if they wanted to, they don’t even link to any of my sites they took my art from.
I am pretty vigilant when it comes to my art, I check every couple of months to see if any sites have my artwork on them that weren’t posted by me and this site hasn’t popped up once, until today. Even though they have artwork of mine dating back to when I started this account and the post dates on these social media groups are only a few days after I posted the original. Even my watermarked images are on there. They just don’t care who they are taking from or even if they mind.
I don’t like that people out there are sharing my artwork and saying things about it without my knowledge. I want to know what people are saying.
Maybe that’s an insecurity of mine, maybe it’s an ego thing. I don’t care. I am not comfortable with it and that is really all that this comes down to.
